He turns 70 this year and is about to retire, so he's doing a writing course 'at a tertiary institution' and planning to spend time fishing and writing. There can't be many connected with the left in Melbourne who haven't benefited one way or another from Paddy's presence at Trades Hall, so it was not surprise the bar was packed this evening for the launch of his first book. Sharan Burrow did the honours, and Paddy read a chapter from the book. The actual farewell will be on 21 July ...
