Who owns the comment?
by Parrot Press Thursday June 07, 2007 at 10:32 AM

It has been brought to our attention by IMC that comments and the comment section is up to the person who doesn't like the comment? Not the person who made such comment?

Who owns the comment...

According to the IMC Mods!

It has also been brought to our attention that the person who posted the article does not have a right to comment on or about that article if in the Mods 'opinion' that the comment is not related to the post? Even if in the person who posted the article and who made a comments opinion it is? And even if in the posters opinion that they chose to make such comment simply to get the word out about some other serious issue that was prevailing at the time.

For instance you were being notified that your house was burning down.

Or that a rock was about to fall on your head.

1. Who owns the comment?

2. Does the person who posted an article have the right to make a comment about that article that they posted?

We would like to take submissions on those very important questions seen as how MIM brought them up!

Furthermore those are the terms of reference, for simple people.

In other words we are not discussing verbal abuse, trolls, or sicko's i.e. comments that would be removed because of abuse of process.

Or whether such comment came from a corporate media source or from a personal nature. Because it is our collective decision that the source of the comment is also irrelevant because the source came directly from the person who made such comment.

Any submission that falls outside those terms of reference will be noted but deemed irrelevant.

We look forward to your submissions.

Parrot Press Inc.

Please post your submission on the comment section. Ps) No comment is irrelevant but we will only discover the truth by adhering to the terms of reference if we want to find the real answer about 'Who owns the comment'?
