When are you going to arrest the perpetrators of the Bali Bombing? : Melbourne Indymedia

The Office of National Assessments (ONA) says the likelihood of Jemaah Islamiah-(JI)[-Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) launching another massive terrorist attack like the Bali bombings has diminished.

The office's director-general has told a Senate Estimates Committee hearing that he believes the terrorist network is reviewing its tactics and is more likely to focus on Indonesian rather than Western targets in the future.

Peter Varghese says while JI [CIA] is still a threat, its capabilities have been weakened?

"Significant parts of JI's [CIA] leadership might have concluded that targeting the West in the form of the big bombs like Bali is counter-productive to the support that they are hoping to create in Indonesia," he said.

The ONA is an intelligence agency just like the CIA which reports directly to the prime minister-John Howard- And the CIA-is and intelligence agency just like the ONA and reports directly to the president-of-the-USA-George W Bush and advises on international political, strategic and economic issues like the illegal and degrading war in Iraq?
