George "W" himself helped to hold up the banner, but was most indignant when told he was not welcome in Australia: "Whaddja mean ... this is MY country", adding later "I am your President: salute me!" Addressing some passers by, he declared:"In America we put protesters like this away for ever", and "Excuse me, have you seen David Hicks?" His main message, however, was an appeal for help "to finish off the job of privatising everything here."
The police were well prepared, even with two very inconspicuous plain clothes officers, one sporting a camcorder, with which he carefully recorded the lineup for posterity. Unfortunately, he didn't stay long enough to capture the performance by 'Artists for a New World Order', so the only record probably is the low resolution clip posted here.

The Protest actually began on a serious note, with an address by an Indigenous representative from Aotearoa, part of which can be heard as part of this report.

A spokesperon from the organising group, the Anti-Apec Network, pointed out the irony that meetings of this kind, in what is supposedly a democracy, and which are going to affect the lives of millions of people in the countries of the region, should be held in secret, and listed some of the areas, such as IR laws, Uranium mining, and education, where neo-con policies are deeply disadvantageous to and opposed by the mass of the people. George "W" hotly disputed this, demanding to know, for instance, what business poor people had wanting to get an education, "and why shouldn't my friends make money [out of it]?" This was in fact the main importance of APEC "because I've got a lot of friends who make money out of it." It was the same with nuclear power. And: "Get behind my agenda or you'll end up in Guantanamo Bay ..."

APEC was set up in 1993 for Australasian and Eastern European countries (including USA) to discuss and implement policies of free-trade, privatisation, security, and trading of natural resources. APEC is mainly dominated by the USA and the interests of large corporations, seeking to increase obscene profits at the expense of people and the environment.

Several projects and flats in hamburg and berlin are being raided at the moment. In Hamburg, 4 flats, one office and the the Rote Flora, where the Convergence Center begins in 3 weeks are being raided. In Berlin, the Mehringhof, mad, bethanien project (libertad office and Glocal anti g8 office) , fusion, kanalb (radio and media project), so36.net (tech collective and alternative internet hoster), and so on. The reason for some of the raids is the "forming a terrorist association" paragraph 129a.

BERLIN - Police raided the premises of leftist groups in cities across Germany Wednesday on suspicion of a plot to attack next month's G-8 summit.

More than 900 federal and local police officers in cities including Berlin, Hamburg and Bremen searched some 40 apartments or offices used by various leftist groups, federal prosecutors said in a statement.

The prosecutors said they were investigating more than 18 individuals suspected of organizing a terrorist group. They said they were focused on dismantling a Web server where many leftists and groups and projects maintained their internet sites and mailing lists.

"The militant extreme left groups and their members are suspected of having founded a terrorist group, or of being members of such an organization, with the specific goal of staging firebombings and other violent attacks in order to disrupt or prevent the upcoming G-8 summit," the statement said.

The Anti-Fascist Leftists of Berlin said the searches targeted activists who were organizing protests against the summit of the Group of Eight industrialized nations.

"The only point of these searches is to criminalize and disrupt the protests against the G-8," the group said. "The accusation that terrorists would coordinate their movements through a leftist-run Internet server is ridiculous."

Federal investigators have expressed concern the summit in the Baltic Sea resort of Heiligendamm could be a target for attack.

In December, anti-G-8 activists splashed paint on a hotel at the resort in northeastern Germany.

G-8 summits have often been a magnet for protests against globalization. At a summit in Genoa in 2001, the demonstrations turned violent, with protesters and police battling in the streets for days.

German security officials have built a $17 million fence around the resort in an effort to keep protesters from the event, hosted by German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The leaders of the United States, Russia, Britain, France, Italy, Canada, and Japan are also to attend.

i hope it's been noted the pigs utilised large numbers to stand off and 'manage' recent protests. their strat is simple out number the protesters in a sea of intimidating blue ... AND IT WORKED!

Consider previous protesters who utilised this strategy to successful conlusions, Gandhi of course always comes to mind but more recently the Latinos in L.A. who mobilised over half a million overnight to hit the streets the next day ... the whole compliment of the State pigs was only 30K ... do u think they interfered with the protest -- not on your life! The Latinos blocked a few freeways etc but no violence ..the pigs wiped their sweated brows.

Nice strategy simple message was overnight 1/2 a mil and blocked freeway to send a clear msg that we CAN do a lot more and you CAN'T stop us with 30K only pig force!

Now we come to Oz the land of loser lamers that haven't even arrested Johnny for flagrant war crimes -- what a pack of shits aussies really are .. FACE IT!

Occupied Australia is the land of genocide and apartheid for its Indigenous peoples.

The invasion of Aboriginal lands was illegal under international law at the time of the arrival of the First Fleet. This invasion involved the perpetration of war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide and theft of Aboriginal homelands.

The current contempt and lack of respect rights and third world conditions that Indigenous peoples face in Australia is an International Shame.

As a Maori settler allay of Aboriginal Sovereignty, I refuse to be a silent beneficiary of aboriginal genocide any longer.

Like New Zealand Canada, and the USA, Australia is a colonial settler state, based on invasion, dispossession and colonisation. Its past 18 years of free market fundamentalism must be understood in the context of an ongoing colonial occupation of Aboriginal lands and resources on which the Australian nation-state is based
Globalisation is the second wave of colonisation and capitalist expansion and is been pushed by translational companies and corporates supported and regulated by international mafia rackets like the G20, WTO, World Bank, IMF, APEC. For indigenous peoples struggling for liberation this means there are two waves of colonisation to fight. The first wave of colonisation has left the indigenous amongst the most disenfranchised, disempowered and dispossessed groups on the planet.

This is well documented. The object of deliberate genocide, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of indigenous people have died during our time in the struggle to retain the right to live on and care for their territories to which they not only depend for survival but also have ancient, deeply-held spiritual and genealogical connections.

Over 50% in Kiribati. “The Island of Hope” documented that the primary cause of poverty in the Pacific relates to globalization, and that this rise in poverty is interlinked with the adoption by national governments of liberal policies promoting investment and competition, and this has operated to the detriment of social services, including health, education, housing, and social welfare. “

How does this happen? It happens because there’s a globalized structure, such as what has been imposed on the Pacific region by the two dominantly white powers in the region, and that is New Zealand and Australia. These results come from what is known as the Pacific Plan for Trade Liberalization, but there are also other global initiatives moving in the Pacific that have had a negative and detrimental impact.

Here, I refer to the APEC plan of 2004, which is called the APEC Integrated Oceans Management Plan. This proposal was developed by the APEC nations for the purpose of bringing states together in the Pacific so that they could have a collective and integrated approach to marine resource management, and so that they could all share equally in the benefit of this plan.

The problem is that no indigenous nation of the Pacific is allowed to be a member of APEC. Samoa, Kiribati, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, French-occupied Polynesia, they are not members of the APEC. The members of APEC in the Pacific are the two dominant powers, Australia and New Zealand, and the other member nations that participate now in the rape of the ocean marine resources of the Pacific are Canada, China, Indonesia, Japan, the United States of America. Why are we not surprised to see that leading the APEC initiatives, the governments of the United States, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand are the same four governments that for 21 years have prevented the passage of the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in the United Nations? “

Indigenous rights as perceived by ourselves are especially critical to our Pacific Island peoples and nations as we approach the 21st century, called by some The Pacific Century.

Political, nuclear, military, economic and environmental violations of our Pacific peoples' indigenous rights by superpowers as well as by our own governments and transnational corporations are mounting. The world needs to be reminded of these past wrongs a century ago and their relationship to World War II and its aftermath, the Cold War, nuclearism and continuing militarism in the Pacific.

The New World Order of economic globalization is not only based in the dominant nations of Western Europe and north America, but also in a growing number of Asian countries. This neocolonialism is directed at our 300 million surviving indigenous peoples with plundering of our natural resources to sustain the hegemony of corporate transnationalism. In the Pacific, pitted against this mammoth of insatiable capitalistic greed and materialism are we, the indigenous islanders who are determined to survive by invoking our own traditions of spirituality, cultural identities and unity with our sacred environments.

People's Charter for a Nuclear Free and Independent (1989)Pacific (NFIP). The charter declared:

"We, the people of the Pacific have been victimized too long by foreign powers. The Western imperialistic and colonial powers invaded our defenceless region, they took over our lands and subjugated our people to their whims. This form of alien colonial, political and military domination unfortunately persists as an evil cancer in some of our native territories such as Tahiti-Polynesia, New Caledonia, Australia, and New Zealand.

Our environment continues to be despoiled by foreign powers developing nuclear weapons for a strategy of warfare that has no winners, no liberators and imperils the survival of all humankind.

We ... will assert ourselves and wrest control over the destiny of our nations and our environment from foreign powers, including transnational corporations. We note in particular the recent racist roots of the world's nuclear powers and we call for an immediate end to the oppression, exploitation and subordination of the indigenous people of the Pacific."

The Queen certainly wasn't in the parlor eating bread and honey. The Prince wasn't counting all the money. Both Crown reps are on Turtle Island trying to put their big feet on our land again. Getting rid of the “Head” must be done under the constellation of the 'Swordsman'
holding the 'head' of Medusa!

Is the British Crown here to repeat the brutal steps they took to undermine the Onkwehonweh and reconfirm their theft of our authority on Turtle Island?

The Queen has come to Jamestown Virginia, the first settlement of the 13 “colonies”. At the same time Prince Andrew is coming to Cambridge Ontario which is on the “Haldimand Tract”. This is where the 'crystal skull' resides.

Is this a co-incidence?

The Onkwehonweh are the true sovereigns. We are the embodiment of the Original League of Nations brought together by the Peacemaker, Dekanawida. We are also known as the “Haudenosaunee” or the “Iroquois
Confederacy”. We are the part of Creation with responsibility to take care of the lands and animals in this part of the world. This obligation was blocked many generations ago.

Enough! We have stood before Creation and re-affirmed our responsibilities to protect our land, our law, and our people. The Crown has not fooled Creation. Re-tracing their ancestral footsteps and claiming our homelands does not make it theirs. Your first attempt was a failure. This one will be too!

Yesterday, our Clanmothers welcomed Aborigine visitors from the Wiradjuri Nation from Australia. They gave us a flag to fly with those of our many supporters at Kanonhstaton. They have been fighting a
mining company that has desecrated their traditional lands.

The Wiradjuri told us of the cultural genocide that the colonists have inflicted on them. They suffered extinguishment of their sacred fire, massacres, murders and the kidnapping of their people who were placed
into “mission stations”. They called these “concentration camps”. In Canada they were “residential schools”.

Other visitors from Bolivia, Venezuala, Cuba, Columbia, and the many e-mails we receive tell the same story. Geography is the only difference.

They refer to the earth as their mother. Water as the earths lifes' blood. Their appearance here is not a co-incidence. They have traced the roots back to the Tree of Peace, to the true “League of Nations”.
We pledged to stand together in Unity and Peace with all of our Onkwehonweh Brothers and Sister throughout the World. We are One! It was a good day.

Regarding the Land “Negotiations” between Six Nations and Canada/ Ontario, the feds have requested 6 months to prepare [create] their documents to make their claim to our lands, Kanonhstaton and the Plank
Road lands. The feds are saying the lands “negotiation” is taking a long time “because of the internal governance processes of the Haudenosaunee”.

The feds requested this time! The feds want to mislead the public into believing they don’t have any research on these lands. The Six Nations elected council brought research to them many years ago which ended up in litigation [in the colonial court]. The Crown should have been preparing to resolve them.

The Six Nations research team is ready and waiting. Kanonhstaton might seem confusing if you're not present at the discussions. There was no legal surrender. The Crown relies on minutes of a meeting in 1844. At
first they referred to a purported surrender document of 1841. Then one of their historians said it was irrelevant. Now they’re using it as part of their evidence. So which is it?

The Six Nations maintain that the so-called surrender, the minutes of the meetings and the other tabled documents show that the intent of the Crown was, and continues to be, to encourage squatters onto our
lands. They tell us they were offered first chance at the lands in exchange for clearing it for the Plank Road. They issued patents without our knowledge and consent. It’s not legal by anyone's laws!

Some monies might have been paid toward the former “Douglas Creek” lands, which we’ve reclaimed. That money appears to have never benefited the Six Nations. There is evidence that the Indian Agents/Crown representatives took these lease monies, put them into
the Trust Account, then immediately took them out and gave them to the Crown’s for their use and benefit.

According to our law we could not sell this land. How does this work? Sell your neighbor’s property, draw up a phony agreement, issue your own patent to the new owner, then spend the money instead of giving it to your neighbor!

To them “native” that we don’t have human rights. The Crown pretends to know what is better for us because it has the “high hand” over us. The Crown purports to be educated, “civilized” [if you call lying, cheating and stealing civilized], religious and with superior laws.

The Onkwehonweh Law, Traditions and Customs were in existence long before Europeans invaded our lands. Our government structure, ceremonies and traditions are part of Creation. Not man-made to control.

There is evidence that the whole town of Caledonia as well as many other lots in the area were never paid for. The federal government should tell the mayor and the residents, “By the way, we forgot to
tell you that we may not have paid for the town of Caledonia. Sorry guys. We made a mistake”. If I were a taxpayer in Caledonia or in any of the other towns/townships along the Grand River, I'd be demanding
answers.

Six Nations gave the Crown 30 days to come back with an offer on three unsettled lands for which the Crown has already acknowledged liability for. To side track us, the Crown asked if they could pursue other
areas. They want us to wait for their research team to finalize information on Kanonhstaton. We agreed to let them go ahead and look at more of our land, the Welland Canal, the Burtch Lands and lands known as Block 5, or Moulton Township.

David Peterson’s unkept promise is that the Burtch Lands would be returned after the barricades came down last May 24th 2006. The Welland Canal was a result of the flooding of our lands for which the Crown admitted responsibility. Moulton Township, also known as Block
5, is one of the original lease agreements set up during Joseph Brant's time, for perpetual care and maintenance. The Crown admitted they broke the lease back in the 1800's and that they are liable. An insulting settlement offer was made to the elected band council
(around 1992). Nothing has happened since.

We also just learned that the lead “negotiator” for Ontario, Jane Stewart, is being replaced by Murray Cooligan, an “expert” on the specific 'claims' process. [He knows “specifically” how we got robbed and will try to keep it under his hat!]

For the last year we’ve told the Crown that we are NOT sitting at the table according to Canada's colonial laws nor any colonial land claims process. We are here according to ancient customs and treaties, the Two Row and our legitimate Nation-to-Nation relationship. NOTHING at
the table has to do with Department of Justice Positions or Specific Claims Processes.

Why weren’t Cooligan’s “expert” knowledge of our land rights brought in at the beginning? The Crown admits it is a year of stalling! Rather than wasting another $350,000+, it's time to bring in an international neutral mediator agreeable to both sides.

Canada now appears to admit its own justice department can’t enter Nation-to-Nation dialogue because Canada is not a Nation. At the most they are a “nation state”. At the table they could not acknowledge that our dialogue was Nation-to-Nation.

Minister Ramsay of the Ontario government admitted on national television that one of the reasons for their difficulties is that "we are dealing with a Sovereign Nation". He acknowledged we are NOT Canadians.

The Governor General’s position is to represent the Crown. We must go back to the beginning. INSIST on the re-polishing of the Silver Covenant Chain. Cut out the bureaucratic crap! If the Crown wants its Canadian agents to represent them, then they better remind them of
protocol!

Some good things are happening on the Grand River tract. The women and other invited the Mohawks from the other communities to our territory this past weekend. Discussed were the environment, our relationship with the earth and teachings about the prophecies. We talked about
roles, responsibilities, dialogue and contacts with the other
territories to reinforce our nationhood.

There will be a follow up meeting at one of the other territories, perhaps Akwesasne. Also meetings have been conducted within Six Nations specifically, geared toward working together and our relationship with the Confederacy.

The cornerstones within Turtle Island on which the Crown has built its empire are crumbling. What happens to a bridge when the footings are gone? London's Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling
down...................!
