'The Resignators' east coast tour thrusts Support Act Limited (SAL) into the spotlight. SAL established in 1997 has since been running events in an endeavour to establish financial assistance for musicians in hardship.

SAL has gained patronage from within the industry and the general community since its inception with Board members like Michael Chugg and the late Billy Thorpe. Throw in names like Renee Geyer, Leo Sayer, Brian Cadd and Guy Sebastion, and it is clear SAL are more than a musical flash in the pan.

Among the latest events to raise awareness for Support Act Limited is the 'Point to Prove Tour' by Melbourne Ska/Punk Band; 'The Resignators'. The band will be performing fourteen shows in destinations across Australia throughout the months of May and June this year.

'The Resignators' show not only has an "Offbeat Feeling" (Care Factor Zero Records, 2006) but is brimming with fun, frivolity and a horn section to top things off.

Named among Blunt magazines "25 bands we feel like hyping for 2007" and chosen to support US act 'Fishbone' in April this year; 'The Resignators' are sure to raise awareness for Support Act Limited (and the roof of any venue they play).

When asked why they see Support Act as an important cause to support frontman Francis Harrison stated that he saw his support of SAL as an investment in the future of the Australian music industry. The 'Point to Prove Tour' is certainly a good start.

Events like these aim to encourage the general community to become members of SAL and thereby support Australian music at a grass roots level. For more information on Support Act Limited go to http://www.supportact.com.au
