Pics from 17 March anti-war rally: part 1
by pc Sunday March 18, 2007 at 07:20 AM

I shall leave it to others to report what was said. Here is some of what I saw, at the State Library, on the march, and finally at Liberal Party headquarters ...

(Had problems uploading this last night; since then the mainstream has reported numbers of about 300 at each of the rallies in Sydney and Melbourne. At some points there were probably only about 300 people at the rally/march in melbourne, but the true figure at its peak was not less than a thousand: the crowd swelled noticeably not long before the march set off.)

350 Iraqis poisoned in chlorine bomb attacks
by Parrot Press Sunday March 18, 2007 at 07:30 AM

At least 350 Iraqi civilians needed hospital treatment after insurgents detonated three trucks filled with toxic chlorine gas, killing two policemen, the US military says.

Nice, but get out of the way now kids
by Action Man Sunday March 18, 2007 at 11:07 AM

Thank you all for your attendance and best wishes.

Now if you'd all just get out of the way and take your placards with you, the rest of us will get on with the job of actually doing something to get rid of these tools from office and, ipso facto, our troops out of Iraq.

And it doesn't involve saying a single word or engaging in a single chant. Not a single drum beat needs to be struck nor a placard painted.

Just a little piece of paper with some pencil marks on it, stuffed into a box, will achieve the thing marchers and spruikers have never been able to.

Effect the peaceful disposal of a stale and inherently dishonest Government.

Power to the people!

THAT IS REALITY ... THAT IS THE CRIME OF THE CENTURY but its better to allow the kiddies the right to demonstrate within controlled limits in order to give the illusion of a 'free' society while THE B_I_G issue are ignored or backgrounded until they depart the public 10 second attention span, ya bunch of fuckwits LOCATE THE ENEMY, FOCUS AN ATTACK AND P-E-R-S-I-S-T UNTIL YOU OVERCOME from generation to generation (yu 10 minute morons) ... that my illusionary ferals, is the long and short of it i will kill u if i must or help u if i can (cohen)

Interesting claim.
by Now prove it. Sunday March 18, 2007 at 03:14 PM

Thankyou, Vineger, or that incisive and thoughtful contribution.

I regard the Liberals as a big a group of pests as the next person. But your claim of them planning to 'steal' an election result intrigues me. What evidence can you share with us which proves what you claim?

Hyperbole and emotive ranting proves nothing.

Other than you're a wanker, of course.

nose on face
by vinegar Sunday March 18, 2007 at 04:46 PM

i was once asked to 'prove' the sky is blue, i couldn't without the compliance of the questioner -- lift the chin and take a fuckin look!

Without the active involvement of the sceptic solving/proving the issue could not have been achieved ..

the Libs have decided to run with two major issues/tactics Howard as 'strong committed man' of direction and 'integrity' on the Iraq issue (for fuck's sake) and attacking the character and integrity of Rudd who lacks both ..

so what is the result of Howard pretending he is Alexander the great ... UNBELIEVABLE of course! A definite no winner but that is the decision the Libs have made.

conservatives around the world have realised they would be under considerable legal pressure if ousted from power so like no other time in history the need for continued rule becomes imperative for the conservative war criminals.

The fact that there is no way that even Howard supporters could accept the strong conquering hero image the question then goes begging, what do the Libs have up their sleeves?

Which introduces another major issue, "spoon-feeding" and the slave mentality and compliant media believing population that it creates!

So YOU think about it and tell me HOW in the present circumstances the Libs could win the election.

Be mindful of the fact that Rudd is no less a U.S. lackey than Howard and that is the real issue of the elections but the herd hasn't a clue, as usual.

So whether or not its Howard or Rudd the status quo remains but just for argument's sake let's imagine it was a real Labor man like Whitlam who threatened to close Pine Gap etc who was opposing Howard ... how would the Libs engineer a win?

Or put another way why doesn't Labor pursue the war crimes, US bases, war games and Hicks issues which are the sensible and popular choices?? So Labor is hamstrung for a reason ... why?

the whole thing is academic in Oz atm, Howard/Rudd no real diff, so let's pretend there is ... what means would the crim elites utilise to win??? I know and so do you if you would use yor fuckin brain and research, think and FREE urself!!!!!!!!!! that is the pre-requisite for ALL future actions

NO LEADERS OR FOLLOWERS

Ain't too hard to find the answer, Tonto

FREE YOURSELF ... no leaders (intellectual or otherwise)

[PS responses would post a lot faster if you would stop trying to trace IPs, which of course are spoofed ... packet bouncing around the world also helps, lamers!]

Let's try that one again shall we -- ask the mods why they delete and manipulate comments:

as for "prove it", and missing the point of 'proving the sky is blue' you fuckwit .. we'll give it another shot shall we ... so please give us your specific definition of the process of 'proving it'

your proof is already history, moron ... Howard has already stolen at least one if not two elections, dimwit! HE LIED BOTH TIMES .. how very "clever" of him or how very 'limited' the Oz population

this joint is teaming with fuckin geniuses!!

Oh, I see now
by Prove It Monday March 19, 2007 at 06:03 AM

Sorry. I took the claim of Howard having some plan to 'steal' an election as meaning there were plans afoot for the Liberals to somehow tamper with the results of an election were they to lose. Electoral fraud and the like, if you will.

Now that there has been absolutely no proof of that being provided, but a lot of hyperbole and rant about previous elections being won on the back of lies (sheesh, that must be a first for Australia, because no other politicians lie during election campaigns) I see that the claim was rhetorical and not to be taken literally. Or seriously.

And, believe me, we don't.

As for the last comment above regarding the intellectual capacity of many of the contributors here at MIM, you've hit it on the head, friend. These pages are a veritable smorgasbord of imbecile.

As you have adroitly proven.

Oi, 'prove it', do you seriously expect a citizen to have access to VERY CLOSED door meetings of the Libs and their handlers, you self-righteous, unrealistic jerk?

The obvious proof is the Children Overboard LIE and other hysteria producing media complicit sensationalist features not the least being 'the terrorist threat'. Regarding material productions ASIO is your best source -- if you can't work it out for urself ... geeeeshhhh, is RIGHT, clown!

Final word
by Prove It Monday March 19, 2007 at 12:56 PM

So what you're saying, Vinegar, is that because you can't access the evidence you need to prove a point, you resort to emotive rant and poor grammar to vent your spleen.

Totally understandable. Rather imbecilic, but understandable.

I bet you have bad breath, too.

no way
by vinegar Monday March 19, 2007 at 01:14 PM

are you stoned or just dissociative, "breath" (relevance?) But TO THE POINT, WHICH OBVIOUSLY REQUIRES RAMMING THROUGH THAT SKULL OF YOURS!

The major import of the communication was/is to encourage idiots like YOU to use your OWN brains (pea in your case) and research matters and arrive at THEIR OWN conclusions -- NOT SIT PASSIVELY AND LAP UP MEDIA CRAP FROM PROPAGANDISTS OR OTHER SOURCES.

Regardless of how desperately you may try to distract from the central issue you will never succeed with anyone who has a modicum of intelligence. You ploy is totally transparent and a tired trick of all conservatives.

Keep at it fuckwit, there will always be someone to expose the likes of you and your ilk.

I bet you use KY!
