Tasneem Chopra will be speaking at the vigil for David Hicks.

Tasneem will be speaking alongside Civil Rights Defence speakers. The vigil is also the place to pick up information about the upcoming National Day of Action for David Hicks.

Tasneem Chopra will be speaking at the vigil for David Hicks.

Tasneem is the current Chair of the Islamic Womens Welfare Council of Victoria.
This is a community organisation established and managed by Muslim women for Muslim women. Current work priorities for the council include: - settlement of newly arrived women into Victoria; poverty and housing assistance; education and training ; addressing violence against Muslim women. They recently produced a media guide (called 'Islam and Muslims in Australia') to help balance the way Australian Journalists cover issues relating to Muslims.

Tasneem has appeared numerous times in the media including 'Stateline' (ABC or howArd Broadcasting Commission) , articles and interviews in 'The Age' , and radio programs such as Women on the Line ( 3 CR). Tasneem is also asked to speak at many events and conferences by groups such as Amnesty and Liberty Victoria.
