Top Ten Reasons Why Activists Shouldn't Be "Too Radical"
1. We must be careful not to offend the Average Australian (AvOz) 2. Self-righteousness is such a turn-off 3. We can't give ammunition to the right wing 4. The AvOz is doing the best he/she can and we shouldn't expect more 5. We can't blame the AvOz because she/he just doesn't know better 6. The AvOz will learn at his/her own pace 7. It's not our place to judge 8. Besides, it's not the AvOz's fault; the Liberals are to blame 9. The AvOz may be indifferent (at best) to reality...but they are still "the people" 10. Why bother? It'll just increase the chances of being arrested and it's way too late anyway

ozfailure's position is that it's policy is not to manufacture, sell, store, or ever use cluster munitions.
Nevertheless at a Norwegian held conference last week it supported the United State of Aggression in thier vote against cluster bombs being made one of the outlawed "certain conventional weapons".
China, Russia etc clusterd together in their determination to use such activity levelling weapons, and did not attend.

US Military/Police heat ray gun - Oz next ?

US military unveils heat-ray gun The heat-ray gun mounted on a Humvee vehicle The gun uses a large dish mounted on a Humvee vehicle The US military has given the first public display of what it says is a revolutionary heat-ray weapon to repel enemies or disperse hostile crowds.
Called the Active Denial System, it projects an invisible high energy beam that produces a sudden burning feeling.
Military officials, who say the gun is harmless, believe it could be used as a non-lethal way of making enemies surrender their weapons.
Officials said there was wide-ranging military interest in the technology.
How the heat-ray gun works
"This is a breakthrough technology that's going to give our forces a capability they don't now have," defence official Theodore Barna told Reuters news agency.
"We expect the services to add it to their tool kit. And that could happen as early as 2010."
'Blast from an oven'
The prototype weapon was demonstrated at the Moody Air Force Base in Georgia.
A beam was fired from a large rectangular dish mounted on a Humvee vehicle.
The beam has a reach of up to 500m (550 yds), much further than existing non-lethal weapons like rubber bullets.
It can penetrate clothes, suddenly heating up the skin of anyone in its path to 50C.
But it penetrates the skin only to a tiny depth - enough to cause discomfort but no lasting harm, according to the military.
A Reuters journalist who volunteered to be shot with the beam described the sensation as similar to a blast from a very hot oven - too painful to bear without diving for cover.
Crowd control
Military officials said the weapon was one of the key technologies of the future.
"Non-lethal weapons are important for the escalation of force, especially in the environments our forces are operating in," said Marine Col Kirk Hymes, director of the development programme.
The weapon could potentially be used for dispersing hostile crowds in conflict zones such as Iraq or Afghanistan.
It would mean that troops could take effective steps to move people along without resorting to measures such as rubber bullets - bridging the gap between "shouting and shooting", Col Hymes said.
A similar "non-lethal" weapon, Silent Guardian, is being developed by US company Raytheon.
HOW HEAT-RAY GUN WORKS Graphic showing how heat-ray gun works 1 360-degree operation for maximum effect Antenna, linked to transmitter unit, can be mounted on vehicle Automatic target tracking 2 Antenna sealed against dust and can withstand bullet fire 3 Invisible beam of millimetre-wave energy can travel over 500m 4 Heat energy up to 54C (130F) penetrates less than 0.5mm of skin Manufacturers say this avoids injury, although long-term effects are not known

Remember:
1. Anyone who disagrees with you is a fascist.
2. Everyone else is an AvOz. You are a special person who possesses insights into the world no one else has. The rest of us should be grateful you are here to stand back and tell the rest of us how above average you are. 3. Only those prepared to take to the streets ever achieve anything. Like keeping us out of Iraq. Working quietly behind the scenes to achieve meaningful change isn't worth it because you don't get to fight with the cops on TV.
4. Anyone whp disagrees with you is a fascist.

#15 Too radical = Me too
by Cool It

Too radical = "me too", that is if an activist is electorally enrolled, and can count at all, and numbers all the squares. Or votes donkey, or abstains. Either way will do Lib/Lab.
After last fed election the Labs and talking heads reckoned if they lost again they'd be gutted. They'd be wasted. THEY'D BE HISTORY.
Coinciding with real and predicted rising interest rates the plebs now have a rising interest in Lab. They'll switch from hoWARd to rich Rudd, and Maxine Millions, fix things up and go back to sleep, they reckon.
Before any real change may occur what is needed is more time and power for hoWARd! The plebs need to be really prodded into action and only more time for the hoWARdists can bring that on sooner.
An election or two would see no option of a fake Lib/Lab change. Lab will be shredded, the plebs will be extraordinarily hostile to the incumbents, and a government of minor parties and independents would ensue.
Such a government will reform the Lib/Lab fascist bias of the electoral system, and the rules of parliament. And begin on the rest.
Not only shouldn't activists be "too radical" and not vote Lib, they should help negate the swing to a fake change in power by actively supporting the coalition.
Accelerate change: VOTE 1 LIBERAL
For a real change give the coalition a bit more time. Trust them, it'll go to their heads.
MAKE HISTORY VOTE IN THE FUTURE : VOTE 1 LIBERAL

o, and Cool It is right
a change of government at the next election only serves to perpetuate the delusion that our democracy is functioning
A vote for the Coalition, on the other hand, is a vote for the rapid death of the state, and some much needed lessons on fascism and how it CAN happen here.
Voting for Labour is voting for slightly less of the same.
Grrr... Maxine McKew sells out to Liblab.... vexing

Strewth I put SATIRE at end to make clear and so many folks just don't get it, really.
While "radicals" like to think they are extraordinary by using jargon, dress, diet, consume commodities considered marginal etc by most AVOZ the rads are realy quite average ordinary themselves.
Rads just to be contrary - by being haughty - see themselves as standing out as if being smug or arrogant dismissive of others opinions is radical... alas the anti-political correctness hacks of the Corporate media do that as par for the course of being Powerful in a hierarchy, regularly shitting on those below.
Wannabe rich pricks amongst the majority of us proles love to delude themselves they are beyond the ordinary and uber cool like say Paris Hilton or some Footy or Cricket star. Not a pretty sight despite what they may think of themselves as being to the rest of us !
Everyday life exposes that illusion but rather than get on with other people a lot of folks seem to take great time and effort to be hostile to Others. Thts was the point readers. Which by your sniping seems to confirm yet again that so many opiniated ones do not listen to Others.
For a Comments section we need some dialogue not point scoring dismissive and tedious rants. Never mind global warming droughts, power cuts, floods, storms etc will soon sort out the cooperative from the competitive and by their actions shall we judge the "radicals" and ordinary australians alike as we will all be trying to survive in the same fucked up environment.
