Leftist Banners were unfurled. Cards with photos of the executed and the disappeared were spread on the ground. Chilean and indigenous Mapuche people remembered the brutal and repressive years of the Pinochet dictatorship.
Many present would have liked to see the General face criminal prosecution for the deaths he caused and the agony of family members never knowing how their friends and comrades were tortured, killed and buried.
Speeches were made. and Songs were sang. An era ended with the death of Pinochet.
