Michael Anderson, Aboriginal political activist in Sydney, condemns recent statements by Prime Minister, John Howard and Attorney-General, Phillip Ruddock in relation to the recent Federal Court Native Title decision concerning Perth.

Anderson likens the land policies of the Howard government to Hitler's Mein Kampf, articles 15 and 17, which dictated that no-one other than the Aryan race should have title to land and that land for future purposes was to be held for the Aryan race to grow.
"The Howard government reeks of hypocrisy, racism and the former South African apartheid mentality. What is even more frightening is the fact that expatriate white South Africans now reside in large numbers in Perth. "John Howard and his government are consistently calling for immigrants in this country to assimilate and adopt Australian values. What values?" Anderson asks.
"Are they the values of the continuing colonial invaders, who have political orgasms at the thought of wiping out Aboriginal People through poisoning, shooting and continuing incarceration? Are these the values they want these people to adopt? If so, then I understand why immigrants, like Aboriginal people, refuse to assimilate," Anderson said. "At the end of the second world war people of the Jewish community constantly campaigned throughout the world for people to be on guard against genocidal traits encroaching into government administration. Here in Australia," Anderson argues, "the land policies of the Howard government against Aboriginal peoples reek of Hitler's Mein Kampf articles 15 and 17, which dictated that no-one other than the Aryan race shall have title to land and that land for future purposes was to be held for the Aryan race to expand their population. "We must be careful," Anderson warns, "that we protect ourselves against extreme racism and apartheid rules being entrenched in the Australian psyche. In Saturday's Telegraph (30 September 2006) Phillip Ruddock's statement is gross and unforgivable, when he stated that 'The Native Tile decision over Western Australia could block non-Aboriginal from beaches and parks.' What a lot of rot! "The Australian government's absolute and extreme hypocrisy is further demonstrated in a separate statement by John Howard when he said he had sent a high power delegation to Papua Niu Guinea to protect the Kokoda Trail from being mined for gold. What about the absolute and total desecration of our sacred and religious grounds throughout Australia for uranium mining and gold mining? A typical example is the Lake Cowal goldmine in central NSW. "How do we, as an absolute minority, fight against this extreme racism of the lawmakers in this country?" Anderson questions. "This cannot be accepted nor tolerated." Anderson is now committed to locating solutions as we need to protect ourselves against a dictatorship, which calls itself a democratic state. Anderson calls on the public to review and consider what this government is doing and make sure that we are on our guard at the next federal election and don't make the same mistake of giving power to the extremists against human rights. This type of insanely negative racist statement will not cover the Aboriginals in any kind of glory. God help them because nobody else (including them selves) will...
I kid of five can see that Howard is no Hitler, so why not the mixed up mixed race Aboriginals?

... since the only race-based form of land ownership in Australia is Native Title, held by members of the Aboriginal race.

I've actually read "Mein Kampf" -- but, I don't remember the part about Aboriginal land policies. Was there a sequel?

Yes its probably bad being an aboriginal under Howard however I am not sure that Howard is racist.
Given his continual lies about everything, IR laws, gun laws, GST etc I think he is just against EVERYONE except those in his own class.

I think he's a protectionist when it comes to the dominance of anglo-celtic culture in Australia. And some of his mates feel threatened in that regard at the minute. I think they're taking it out on the easiest target.
Also, there's an election looming and with economic stabiity not looking so hot as a platform, it's important to find some minorities to denigrate quickly...
..I think it's chapter nine in Mein Kampf... propaganda and specifically the importance of appeals to the ill-educated masses..

Guess what this is bigger than hitler this is about creating a one world order and a one world credit system implemented by the powers that be to control and dominate every one of us regardless of race unfortunatley we first nations peoples in this country are the scapegoats for the ongoing genocide upon our people at the moment which is all part and parcel of irradicating us. Who is involved in this one world order well who controlls the world bank is it the rothchilds what nationality are the rothchilds.??and what is the basis of their beliefs? Who are the prieur'e? de sionist??and the basis of their beliefs? who are the rosicrucians?? and the basis of their beliefs?who are the knights templars?? and the basis of their beliefs?? who are the illuminatii and what is the illuminatii and what is the basis of their beliefs??and who are the freemasons and the basis of their bebiefs they are all buddies who have planned the world domination and control of the masses. So what are the human race going to do to fight against such evil dictators??? It has always been a battle between good and evil from the beginning of creation. A battle of principalities and powers. These evil ones are not going to give up their power so mother earth and creator spirit through nature is going to bring an end to the pain and suffering of the innocent victims and bring down its wrath upon us bingo the climatic shifts and changes sea levels rising food chains dying water drying up and the earth is so much off balance now and she is going to throw us the human race all off balance like a dog shaking the fleas off its back there is the earth shifting on its axis. wake up or get shaken up.

It really is only about mining futures. The beach/park issue is just a cheap diversion from the covert mining interests. They use the politicians, media and us to create fear!!! martin

Can I make a request that the headline on the main page is changed please to this headline on this page?
The point that Michael Anderson made was more subtle than comparing Howard directly to Hitler, -that his POLICIES are like Hitler's policies.
I think that this detail is important, because when i first saw the headline, i dismissed it- i felt like it was yet another thoughtless comparison, then reading the article i realised that there WAS a genuine comparison to be made.
