Melbourne 30 July - Rally for Peace - Stop Israeli aggression
by pc
Monday July 31, 2006 at 02:10 PM
For the third week, Melbourne's Lebanese and Palestinian organisations, along with supporters from across the community, rallied to demand an end to Israeli aggression and demand an immediate ceasefire.

Called by the Melbourne Palestine Solidarity Network and endorsed by many other organisations, including the Federation of Australian Muslim Students, the Islamic Girls/Womens Group, the Palestinian Community of Victoria, Socialist Alliance, Socialist Alternative, and Resistance, under the banner of 'Rally for Peace - Stop Israeli aggression against Palestine and Lebanon', Sunday's rally and march were marked by a definite raising of the temperature compared with previous weeks: the speeches, including those from non-Muslims, were more strongly worded, and there was more visible and audible anger in the crowd. Although there was a large police presence, they had not brought the horses this time, and it should be acknowledged that police as far as I could see showed much good sense - looking back, I think one could say that there was more heavy-handedness on display during the recent march on World Refugee Day, a pretty harmless assembly one would think. When the marchers reached Parliament House, there have been far more innocuous events where police have chosen to defend the steps more aggressively, and indeed on this occasion they drew back to the top and made no attempt to interfere as marchers occupied virtually the whole front of the building. Neither did they intervene when a group of young men, including some in battle dress, first set fire to and then trampled an Israeli flag. (I left at the end of speeches at Parliament House. The march was due then to continue to Federation Square, but I can't say what hapened there, althoug I understood it was planned to deliver a letter of protest to SBS regarding its coverage of the issues regarding the Middle East.)
Apart from Lebanese and Palestinian speakers, the initial rally at the State Library was addressed by David Glanz of Socialist Alliance, Margarita Windisch of the Stop-the-War Coalition, and Senator Lyn Allison of the Democrats - as before, the major political parties were conspicuously absent (perhaps displaying the better part of valour, given their leaders' recent statements?). A notable feature of the halt at Parliament House was the reading of a detailed condemnation of Zionism and the acts of the State of Israel from the point of view of Torah-Judaeism, a reminder that, as the statement stressed, the State of Israel does not speak in the name of the Jewish people. And indeed, as on previous occasions, there were Jews among the protesters.
Numbers at the rally and march certainly went up and down, probably peaking at around 2,000, but falling off during the march and subsequent halt. Again, families made up a large part of the crowd ...
Next Sunday, August 6, Hiroshima Day, was already due to be marked by an anti-war, anti-nuclear rally; this year the current conflict will now be added to the agenda.

Called for an immediate halt to the Israeli attacks. The US claims to be bringing democracy to the Middle East but is punishing the people of Palestine for making a democratic choice ... punishing the people of Lebanon for their democratic choice. "We stand here to condemn the apologists [of Israel] in the West, in America and in Australia who said we should go to war against Iraq because of weapons of mass destruction, but say nothing about the 200 Israeli nuclear warheads hidden in silos in the Negeb desert. We stand here to condemn that hypocrisy." What is happening now is another chapter in the US programme to ensure it retains its position as the world's only superpower. "I believe we have to take sides. It's not enough to call for peace. We have to say the people of Palestine are right to resist. We have to say the people of Lebanon are right to resist. We have to reject comments from John Howard and on this occasion too often from Kim Beazley as well, that this is a war against terror. Hezbollah is not a terrorist organisaation. It is a national liberation organisation. Hezbollah drove Israel out of Southern Lebanon, and Israel will never forget it. And we have to take sides with Hezbollah against Israel. We have to take sides with Hamas against Israel ... [We] must get behind the demands 'Stop the bombing, stop the aggression'. We must tell John Howard that Australia ... must end its support for Israeli aggression, because Israel's aggression is backed by its supporters around the world. ... We have to tell John Howard to end military links with Israel, the exports, the imports, and the military collaboration. We have to say to this government, take Hezbollah off the list of terrorists ..."

I love the way they peacefully burn flags at this "peace protest".
It's almost as dramatic as when they (peacefully) beat the shit out of the Prime Minister's car, while shouting "we love peace".
From Mumbai to Melbourne, Syria to St. Kilda. Gotta love that Religion of Peace!

Just like when the Israeli army peacefully kills 100s of Lebanese civilians who aren't interested what so ever in doing anything but minding there own business and feeding /clothing / housing their families.
On the scale of things, Israel (the prevailing administration) is being a big bully and a murderous criminal one at that.
Lets stop this shit. Let's give the Palestinians and Lebanese autonomy. and Israel can pull back out of occupied territories. Then and only then if any pyscho fighters remain attacking Israel, then an international peace force, no Israeli's or Jordanian/Syrian/Egyptians/Lebanese can clean up the people who keep breaking the law.
At the moment the Hizbala are freedom fighters and defenders, even the Lebanese PM is on their side now. So all Israel has achieved is to turn a country partly (mostly) alied against their state. CRAZY action.

At first I heard somebody through a stone at the PMs care and somebody else broke the flag off it.
Then the mainscream media said that is was "fired projectiles"
Now the truth comes out and it is "beat the shit out of"
Thanks for clearing the confusion to what really happened. No need to worry about reading the report from one of the Just Peace organisers who was actually there <http://melbourne.indymedia.org/news/2006/07/118148_comment.php#118229> which even makes the original PIMC post look like astroturf reportage.

Stopping Shit

Monday July 31, 2006 at 04:13 PM
Lets stop this shit. Let's give the Palestinians and Lebanese autonomy. Let's start, with stopping your uninformed shit. The Lebanese had autonomy, at least from Israel. Israel was not occupying any Lebanese territory whatsoever. Despite this, Hezbollah fired deadly missiles into Israel. They started the shit, and for the good of mankind, let's pray they stop it. Or Israel will do it for them. As for bombing children, the fact remains this is not Israel's aim. It is too bad Hezbollah fires rockets from on top of and next to buildings containing children. Israel simply shoots at where the missiles are. Hezbollah win either way. If Israel doesn't shoot, they can continue attacking Israelis. If Israel shoots back, civilians get killed and Israel looks bad. What Hezbollah is doing is immoral.

Admire Your Pluck, Nazihunter
by Teaching French To A Pig
Monday July 31, 2006 at 07:10 PM
Nazihunter,
I admire your pluck in trying to educate the barnyard animals. However, "people" like Faruque the Cabbie and the rest of the Hitler Youth aren't interested in the truth. They hate Jews with the vitriol that most sane people save for those who drive slow in the fast lane.
These guys truly believe that all the ills of the world are somehow orchestrated by Jews and with the Jews gone, everyday would be 28 degress and sunny.
There is a silver-lining in watching Indymedia disnintegrate into a "one note sonata" about the Jews. If the anti-Semites are here posting all the time, the children and housepets in their neighbourhood are safe.
Also, there vitriolic hatred of Jews has begun to be noticed by the mainstream -- let's face it, not many mainstreamers have ever seen this side of the Left's looking glass. The Left in the US has already taken physical steps to distance themselves from the anti-Semites in their midst (Howard Dean's public statement last week), and it won't take long for the rest of the Left to follow. Afterall, it's hard to call yourself the party of inclusion and tolerance when your members are asking to have the gas-chambers re-opened.
Another good thing is that it forces the majority of the Left Wing to disprove their connection with this kind of hate speech by being supportive of Israel -- whether they like it or not. Because the haters can't distinquish between legitimate criticism of Israel (which all Israelis participate in) and medievel screeds of traditional anti-Semitism, the mainstream Left can't distinquish either and will have to quell all criticism of Israel.
The final bit of good news is that having all your rotten-eggs here in one basket, so to speak, everyone (and you know who that is) knows where they are. Don't think for a moment that the authorities haven't recorded threats to murder Jews, burn homes, etc, that have been thrown around here. These things will all come out at their next commital hearing.
So, cheer up and let the monkies through their poo -- it's harmless and it's fun to watch.
Oh look at the lovely flags!

Just look at all those Australian flags at the demonstration! It shows just where these people's allegiances REALLY lie.
And it's not with this great nation. The difference bewteen us and them is that we allow them to fly their countries' flags here. Can you imagine the Lebanese allowing us to fly ours in the centre of Beirut?
They want it all one way. Freedom to express themselves here, but not allowing others to do the same in Lebanon.
And THAT'S the difference between us.

Who'd want to fly Australia's flag?
It's an ugly cunt of a thing based around invasions, murderous violence, oppression, genocide, theft, torture, slavery, hierarchical social systems etc etc.
My G-d it's fucking ugly. I used the one they gave me to wipe my arse on and then burned it. Fuckin' piece of shit.
To anyone who comes to Australia I say, "Do as we do. Exploit the fuck out of the place and all who sail in her, especially, fuck the boongs over but pretend to care about them and above all maintain your racial/national heritage." That's what John Howard means when he says we are from "British" stock.
The Aussie flag is an internationally recognised sign that you are retarded and need special assistance.
The Aussie flag is also an invitation to smash things. If you see the Aussie flag on something, feel free to throw a brick at it or drag you key along it (in a covert manner if you think someone is watching because getting caught is UnAustralian).
Take it from me, next time you see some cunt draped in the Aussie flag like they own the fuckin' place, creep up behind them and knock 'em clean out with a jaw shot. I'm an Aussie Aussie fucker Oi Oi Oi and that would make me laugh my fuckin' arse off.
I like foreign flags, it's a sign of our egalitarian culture.

Back to my point, which was not rebutted at all reasonably by Nazihunter.
99% of Lebanese were going about there shit, just like 99% of the Israelis were going about their shit. Hizbala for whatever reason (probably a fucked up one) were firing the occasional rocket. The death toll was really low. (I hear they aim better than Saddam did with his Scuds but anyway).
Now Israel fires up the American backed war machine, which outguns the Lebanese on a scale of 100/1, and despite all there technology, still manage to destroy much of Lebanon's infrastructure. Airports, Military sites, Ports, Roads, Bridges, Government Buildings, apartment complexes.
ANd Kill 100s of people
It's just Illegal, Criminal and Immoral. Two wrongs don't make a write. A crime is just as punishable if it's by Hizbolla or Israeli Government, Officer class or dumb arse soldier. (Though given the quality education available in Israel, the end soldiers should be smarter than average -- which makes the crime worse -- cause they should self realise they are the perpetrators.
Lets keep the pressure on and as non Lebanese Australians (I call on Centre and Left Jews living in Australia also) lets show up to the Rallies, Lets discourage and stop the flag burning, as it just supplies the right wing trolls on this list with a stupid excuse to try and shout violence, when in the scheme of things it is the size of pluto versus the size of the solar system.
And last but not least lets get Israel to withdraw and put pressure on Hizballa to cease there indiscriminate firing (which is evil but has now become the lesser of evils).

Orthodox Jews Demand End to Zionist Atrocities in the Middle East
July 18 – New York
The brutal and indiscriminate attack upon the people and infrastructure of Lebanon by the Zionist State “Israel” is a crime against all basic standards of decency and humanity. The excuse given for this murderous invasion was the attack by Hezbollah on the IDF. What this might have to do with the hundreds of thousands of Lebanese innocent men, women and children, who are subjected to an ongoing living hell, is beyond comprehension. Indeed, this current aggression is only the second chapter of the recent viciousness; the first being the furious reinvasion of Gaza and the onslaught on its civilians and the ruination of its basic human services. Of course, voices may be heard that the IDF are simply responding. This, of course, ignores the question of the evil, implicit in punishing blameless people for the deeds of others. And it totally ignores the root of the problem, the dispossession and subjugation of the Palestinian people which began in 1948, was expanded in 1967 and continues unabated to this day. The crux of the matter is that beyond the immorality of the Zionist treatment of the Palestinians is the ultimate fact -- the ideology of Zionism and ensuing establishment of the Zionist state conflicts with the basic teachings of Judaism. Zionism is the transformation from Judaism, a G-dliness and spirituality, into a G-dlessness, materialism with nationalistic aspirations. Theodor Herzl and his cohorts, the fathers of this relatively new ideology of Zionism (approximately 100 years), have taken the Almighty out of the equation. The ultimate establishment of the Zionist State, the fulfilment of the Zionist ideology, takes this blasphemy a step further. The Jewish people were sent into exile by Divine decree. They where then expressly commanded by the Almighty, not to attempt to leave their exilic existence through any human intervention. (Talmud, Tractate Kesuboth, p.111). The Jewish people are forbidden to oppress another people. The creation of the State of “Israel” came about through, the theft from, subjugation and oppression of, the Palestinian people. Torah Jewry, therefore, condemns the horrifying suffering inflicted upon both the Palestinian and Lebanese people. Because of all of the above, all attempts to achieve peace and stability for “Israel” are destined to fail. The Creator cannot be defied with impunity. The Rabbis stated, that the State of “Israel” will result in unending pain, suffering and bloodshed. May the Almighty protect His creations. The State of “Israel” does not speak in the name of Jews, they have stolen the name “Israel” from the Jewish people. Jews are commanded to be loyal citizens in every country in which they reside. Zionism and the State of “Israel”, is the main cause of the exacerbation of anti Semitism universally. The government of the illegitimate State of “Israel”, continually attempts to uproot the Torah and its statutes. They persistently oppress the Torah true Jews who reside in its borders. We pray that all misery in the Holy Land and Lebanon, shall come to an end and that Zionism, the root of the suffering, continue to fade from Jewish consciousness, to be replaced by the faith of Torah. We shall all witness soon the peaceful dismantlement of the Zionist State "Israel". May we merit seeing the day when all humanity will serve the Almighty in harmony and peace. Amen

What do you mean by 'your sites'? Why does everything in your warped world need to be viewed as with us or against us in total?
Of course, if someone actually thinks Israel shouldn't lie down and surrender, he MUST be from one of 'those' sites. Not that it matters, but I'm not.
Once you're defining it in those terms, I'm from one of these sites, and am increasingly sickened by the madness taking 'us' over.
