"Mothers' Day" is for Peace

I do pay respect to those who went to wars and fought for what they were made to believe, who have been killed, mamed and traumatized. And I believe "determination, courage and mateship" should be handed down to our youth. However I strongly oppose the way how ANZAC Day has been displayed in these years.

It should be a day to seek solution for any conflict, in order to achieve peace in the region and the world, so that our children won't have to have any horrific experiences in wars. Instead they are glorifying the wars and instilling our children to think that it is patirotic and wonderful to go to war when wars as a matter of fact, are for a fraction of the population to make $$$.

They say "go and fight for our country" but what is a country to begin with? It is consisted with us, citizens. People who live there. It is not for the Government or military.

And the pattern is like this: those in power create potential future enemy somewhere, nurture them and fund them, then eventually turn around, calling them evil and start a war to sell weapons and to steal resources. So, we should not allow ourselves to be used and abused.

And now, Mother's Day is coming up. But most of us don't know the origin of the day. It was not a day to thank your mother for what she does before shops made it that way. It actually started as "Mothers' Day"(note where the apostrophe is) and it was the day for mothers to march demanding end of wars and peace.

When the US seems to go ahead to attack Iran and Howard Government quite likely to support it while Iran has their right to develop and research nuclear for peaceful use as the NPT clearly states, why don't we mothers on earth demand PEACE loud and clear!

Mmmm
by Satisfy Me, Don't deny Me! Friday May 12, 2006 at 07:11 PM

Prime Meanster john HoWARd says the dispute with Iran over its nuclear program is an opportunity for the United Nations (UN) to make up for its failure in Iraq?

Can you believe that?

History Wars Part 4.2
by Her-Story Friday May 12, 2006 at 07:29 PM

Yes we forget and lose ground to the right....before it was Corporatized by Bolte into Moomba it was labour Day with floats by unionists, before the ANZAC Day spectacle overwhelmed most folks the anti-conscription campaigners like the IWW and the Mothers Day network forced the issue to conscription and the State lost even troops at the front voted against Conscription.
The current history wars in the Kings Domain by the sacred fire/ black GST crew is a living memory and thus an affront to our founding murdering fathers. The gumpets/Government pets like Keith Windshuttle who denies and genocide, stolen generation abuses etc are paid hacks for the Pastoralists and Mining Corporations who feared the MABO June 3rd ruling that "teraa nullius" was a scam to con aboriginals and tores strait islanders of their land and now their memories too.

Good on youse for reclaiming Mothers Day
advancing in diversity - united in action !

looks like
by child abuse Saturday May 13, 2006 at 01:09 AM

hmm.. little red riding hood looks a bit young to be making a political stance! Pity people abuse their children with their own impositions. Allow the kid to grow and make her own decisions -- the best you can do is give her unbiased info to draw from. Love does not dress children in placards. But the others are no better, either.

God I hate seeing things like that.

Silver Lining
by to Red's Cloudy Day Saturday May 13, 2006 at 07:23 AM

The good news is, that children of activists typically grow up to be conservative right-wingers in their late teens and twenties -- all part of that adolescent rebellion thing.

So, Red's parents will pay for this act of sartorial child abuse by having to watch adult Red become a good student, not get a tattoo or body piercing, graduate cum laude from engineering school, get a great job with Exxon and drive the biggest SUV on the planet.

Happy Mum's Day

Oh, the horror!

Good on Reta!
by marcusneofitou@hotmail.com Saturday May 13, 2006 at 10:45 PM

Good on you Reta for still persisting for peace in the face of your recent State persecution. You are a passionate and unignorable voice for peace!

Though I love my mother, I always thought the consumerist version of Mother's day was a bit of a farce.

Now I know it is.

Bring on Mothers' day!

marcus - you started a thread on wiondfarms that pissed all over by the collective, inlcuding ema.

It might have been nice if you had helped to defend that thread against the rancid and defamatory disinformation assault launched at it by the unaccountable operators of this website, marcus.

or are you frightened of the consequences?

"GOD HELP AMERICA" and its Coalition of the Killing

"GOD HELP AMERI...

Hi "Satisfy Me, Don't deny Me!"

Opportunity for the UN to make that up?????
Ah well. That's why he has won the special reward from Zionists, which is the real reason why he went to Washington D.C. this time.

Hi "Her-Story",

I didn't know about Moomba.
IWW, you mean Industrial Workers of the World I suppose.
http://www.iww.org/ or rather
http://www.iww.org.au/

The rest, I don't really know what you were talking about, but thank you for your comment!

Hi "child abuse" and "to Red's Cloudy Day",

> the best you can do is give her unbiased info to draw from

Oh yes, when they are to sing National Anthem and look up to the flag from age five while nobody ever tells them the need to doubt so-called "leaders"' real intentions time to time.

Nowadays, you get punished if you don't stand up to sing their anthem in Japan. I mean they deduct your wage if your students don't do it. That's called "patriotism." Just like ANZAC Day, you see. That's the direction we are all heading for in many places on earth nowadays. But "patriotism" is not something that you are forced to have. It should come naturally.

Molding children to suit your way is fine but others get denied. Sounds familiar? The same old "double standard" guys. Just like accusing Iran for having nuke for peaceful purposes while totally ignoring Israel's nookLIAR WEAPONS.

Also calling us "Red"/communists is called labelling.
I figured that out after 9/11 which woke me up all right. You label people who are after peace truth and justice with all sorts of names, in the hopes so that other ordinary sheeple wouldn't listen to them.

But I'm not right nor left.
I'm not Red nor whatever.
I'm simply after peace and justice and I'm trying to spread the truth which you are so eager to deny.

God Less America,
God Less Australia,
God Less UK,
God Less Japan,
So, God help them all! ;O)

Let's sing:

"GOD HELP AMERICA"
by Kay Sather of the Raging Grannies of Tucson, Arizona

GOD HELP AMERICA, WE NEED YOU BAD!
'CAUSE OUR LEADERS ARE CHEATERS
AND THEY'RE MAKING THE WORLD REALLY MAD.
CLIMBING MOUNTAINS, CROSSING OCEANS
AND INVADING FOREIGN SOIL...
GOD HELP AMERICA, NO BLOOD FOR OIL!
GOD FORGIVE AMERICA, NO BLOOD FOR OIL!

And let us not allow them deceive us any more, even with another 9/11 to give them an excuse to nuke Iran!!

past excuses
by dandee Tuesday May 16, 2006 at 03:45 AM

what makes you think a regime in trouble needs to make excuses (another 9/11) to do anything? They're following the PNAC plan down to a tee -- fortunately Russia has decided to spend on upgrades and so is China -- who do you think is gonna stop the ratbag USA if not for that alliance in the East.

the yanks will bomb Iran sure as day follows night unless of course you have more resources than China or Russia!

The people can have peace anytime they want -- but they are too fuckin scared to turf the liars.

So nations will fight it out -- and the chicken-shit people deserve exactly what they gutless well git!
