The people (NAP) who passionately plead with us not to vote in 2004, are now running candidates in the NT and directing their paltry preferences to the CLP

Hypocrisy has a new name
Who can forget the stirring oratory from NAP's Gary Meyerhoff, pleading with the plebs NOT to VOTE in 2004?
"How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think." -- Adolf Hitler.
http://www.napnt.org/pages/dont_vote_2004.html
Are they ready to be unplugged? (A 'matrix' allusion)
"Not voting is a protest against the State's domination by corporate interests and the repression taking place in Australia to serve those interests.
Voting gives the state a mandate for the American/Australian war on drugs, the Iraq war, the theft of East Timor's resources, the caging of refugee children and the continued repression of 'Australians' as security/police powers are broadened.
We must demonstrate our opposition - we must withdraw our mandate. It is time to unplug ourselves from the Matrix.
Elections have become the domain of media image makers and wealthy campaign contributors. Policies have become interchangeable. Voting is not a means of achieving change in Australia. Not voting is the ultimate protest vote. Don't feed the lie - Don't vote."
The Socialist Alliance and the Greens were demolished by Meyerhoff's eloquence and the ethical purity of his stance.
Who else would have the courage to compare the Greens to Nazis?
Suprisingly there was little criticism of the major parties from Meyerhoff.
One cynic claimed, this was because NAP were after the supporters and donations the minor parties attract, as they are seen as competition by NAP who have lost most of their support recently.

Sigh
You gotta admire their ability to reinvent themselves.
A very necessary attribute in their cases.
Now if they'd just be happy to stay mainstream and leave real political activists up here alone.
I could present some graphic insights into this crew - but I'd only feel like I was torturing kittens or something.
They are kinda defenceless.
So I'll leave them to it. And hope they've learned to stand on their own feet and not to attack people they see as competition.
I couldn't resist this though...
:-)
ps
preferences to the CLP?
That is shameful - No spin, excuses that move. _____________________________________

NAP self promo - "In a fiercely worded, sweeping critique that lumps the two major political parties and the also-rans into one barrel, NAP argues extensively with a range of controversial internet links and references."
No excuse for this

Give your preferences to the Greens or SA if you must play this hypocritical publicity-seeking game. Show some respect for Aboriginal people, the East Timorese, et al.
