Your are note really selling it. Couldn't you give us a bit more information? Why and anarchist conference here and now? What are you hoping to acheive? What's going to be on? What possibilities does anarchism hold for social change? Why should i be interested?

everyone who gives a crap at all about the way the world is going should be there. of course it's just easier to say it's all fucked up and blame human nature like the lying bullshit artists that so many of us are these days. yep.

I went to the website it doesn't make any argument as to why there is an anarchist conference. I can only assume it's to hang out with other anarchists, so that's fine, but what are the issues? A few workshops are thrown around but I don't see any political argument made as to the relevance of anarchism today. I think you could make one, in fact their are plenty of instances where an anarchist approach would be useful in attempting to affect social change, there are other situations where it's not.
I mean there is no mention of the current state of the labour force, how it is organised by capital, how it might be organised to resist, what about the war or a whole bunch of things?
All i'm seeing is a getting together of anarchists for the sake of it, why not put the issues first and the brands second.
If I was in melbourne i'd come along. No offence to your efforts but i think some more mental gymnastics is required.

As someone who attended this weekend's conference .............I have to say I had a really good time and came away inspired and energised, having participated in some constructive discussions.......sat under trees and relaxed and been part of a group who decided to meet again in a couple of days time for a shared meal in someone's house..........there was a strong energy towards how we as libertarian leftists can be practicing mutual aid more creatively in our daily lives.
I really enjoyed the diversity of the gathering, a range of ages and ethnic and class backgrounds .
Hats off to the organisers and everyone who attended.....

But its great to see the burning issues of the day all lined up in such a truly revolutionary triage.

Between Doctor_Jones and pr I have managed to deduce that good anarchists should:

* rant incoherently on a diverse range of subjects and events about which they apparently know nothing or very little.

* abuse anyone who doesn't subscribe to their obtuse, and quite frankly psychotic, world views.

* refuse to co-operate with any project (especially displays of collective resistance) unless they personally are direct and obvious beneficiaries, and furthermore, it is their sworn duty to frustrate such projects if they are not rewarded adequately with hero-worship gratuities.

* squeal long and loud like crucified deities when they are pinged for self promotional stunts like spraying graffiti on a Maccas after making sure the cops are watching or launching into hysterical hissy fits if a coppers glance accidently comes within 90 degrees of said revolutionary hero.
