Anti-Nuclear Map of Australia (V2) Released

Version Two of the Map of Australian Nuclear Sites and the Anti-Nuclear Movement is now available at www.australianmap.net. This map illustrates all the major nuclear sites in Australia and includes links and contact information of various Australian anti-nuclear groups.

Version Two of the Map of Australian Nuclear Sites and the Anti-Nuclear Movement is now available at http://www.australianmap.net. This map illustrates all the major nuclear sites in Australia and includes links and contact information of various Australian anti-nuclear groups. You can download and print the map for yourself or contact one of the distributors for a copy. The map was created by Anti-Nuclear Alliance of WA and various other anti-nuclear groups.

Major changes from first edition:
• Jabiluka Mine – development halted
• Honeymoon Mine – stalled
• Yeelirrie Mine – rehabilitation underway
• WA sites – many leases dropped
• Anti-dump legislation – passed SA & WA
• Pangea Waste Dump – defeated for now
• US presence – expanded WA, NT, QLD, Canberra
• Steritech QLD – irradiation plant started
• Waste Dump SA – site selected
• Lucas Heights – new reactor under construction
• Ranger Mine – major contamination of workforce

Campaigns included on the map include some or all of the following:
• uranium mining, burial, transport and reprocessing of nuclear waste, irradiation of food and other substances.
• the proposed new nuclear reactor for Sydney or anywhere in Australia.
• nuclear disarmament.
• exposing the truth about British nuclear tests in Australia.
• gaining justice for people affected by nuclear hazards.
• military and industrial uses of Depleted Uranium (DU).
• foreign spy bases or support facilities on Australia waters.
• visits of nuclear-powered/nuclear-armed vessels to Australia ports.
• support for indigenous groups resisting the nuclear industry.
