A large crowd gathered in Melbourne today for the 'End the Lies' rally and concert. Meeting outside the State Library and kicking off with several speakers, a march then proceeded through the city and back to the library for a concert.

End the bullshit

My concern is that the 'End the Lies' rhetoric, having absolutely no value as a campaign tactic, will divert energy away from any practical measures to defeat Howard.
The futility of this ploy is reflected in the meagre turnout to the rallies. A far cry from the mass rallies you organised to support Saddam.
What, a piddling 6,000? Compared with 250,000 then?
Try something different.
The 'Lies' tactic could actually deprive Australians of the pleasure from having the most hilarious Labor leader since Arthur Calwell elected Prime Minister.
Just think of what could be - a WC Fields look alike buffoon Prime Minister - and Abbott and Costello fighting it out on the sidelines to take over the Liberal Party.
That would be so funny.
So, please, please.
Drop the 'Lies' twaddle, and focus on something with electoral appeal before it's too late.
Everyone knows politicians lie. Latham lies. Brown lies. You lie - and you are not about to stop that, are you?
Just for once, do something effective.

Presuming you're a member of the young liberals by your comments- at least we had over 6,000 supporters yesterday.... I noticed a few of you sitting lonely at Hungry Jacks after the protest- a mere 4 of you. Funny that. While they're were 6,000 of us there were only 4 of you. Enough said.

You guys are hysterical. You boast of a few thousand who showed up at your Melbourne anti-Howard demo, while belittling a handful of conservatives who showed up to present an alternate point of view. But, a hardcore lefty rally is hardly representative of the majority opinion in this country. All your snideness and snickering can't obscure the fact that your leftwing point of view reflects the opinions of a small element on the fringe of the Australian political spectrum. If they are lucky, the Greens might poll 11 or 12%. A drop in the proverbial bucket.
So, by your own logic, I guess the Liberal/National Party Coalition will be the ones laughing last, and best.
