are politicians liker John Howard really psychopaths?
by brian Sunday April 18, 2004 at 01:10 PM

what do you think?

'One very interesting aspect of the psychopath is his "hidden life" that is often not too well hidden. It seems that the psychopath has a regular need to take a "vacation into filth and degradation" the same way normal people may take a vacation to a resort where they enjoy beautiful surroundings and culture. To get a full feeling for this strange "need" of the psychopath - a need that seems to be evidence that "acting human" is very stressful to the psychopath - read more of The Mask of Sanity, chapters 25 and 26. Also, read Cleckley's speculations on what was "really wrong" with these people. He comes very close to suggesting that they are human in every respect - but that they lack a soul.

This lack of "soul quality" makes them very efficient "machines." They can be brilliant, write scholarly works, imitate the words of emotion, but over time, it becomes clear that their words do not match their actions. They are the type of person who can claim that they are devastated by grief who then attend a party "to forget." The problem is: they really DO forget. '

The Psychopath's Bible

The Psychopath's Bib...

There can be no doubt that whether or not John Howard is a psychopath (I wouldn't be surprised), he certainly serves agendas which have a psychopathic element. I recommend that anyone interested in this topic read "The psychopath's bible" by Christopher S. Hyatt.
Apparently, many people don't get past the first few chapters before throwing it down in disgust. I'm not surprised! It's probably the most cynical and malevolent book I've read. It is also one of the most truthful and brutally honest books on the current Human condition I've read.

As one of the reviewers states - "Be warned! This book not only bites, it will chew off your fingers and claw out your eyeballs."

I'll transcribe an extract from Chapter5:

The public in general has no concern as to who is a Manipulator. The public is only concerned with petty criminals who might effect their petty little lives directly. This is why so many white collar criminals go free or get minimal sentences and some of the most hideous crimes either go totally unnoticed or are applauded as greatness.
For example, the "great" Hawaiian king Kamehameha 1 is considered "great" because he "unified the Islands" - by pushing thousands of his "enemies" off cliffs.
Similarly, consider the Christian fight against evil in Europe - which was finally victorious when all of the "witches" were burned.

The public concerns itself with the maintenance of its status quo (i.e., chickens) and, as a rule, the public should be helped to maintain its status quo even more intensely than it is.
The heavier it gets, the deeper it sinks and the greater its fears. It can't succeed or leap to the next level of superiority. It must sink deeper and hold on more strongly.
As it does this it creates more enemies while, at the same time, making itself more impotent. Do not fight the status quo or the failures which surround you. Help it, encourage it, and then help it encapsulate itself. Help it grow stronger and heavier. Use whatever it creates. Don't change it, simply streamline it a little.
====================================================================================

Talk about **cynical**! Quite an insight into the mind of the Manipulator.

I might post more extracts later.

of equal interest are the following books
by brian Sunday April 18, 2004 at 03:17 PM

1. The Emptied Soul

'In his book "The Emptied Soul," Adolf Guggenbl-Craig explores the psychology of the psychopath. These psychopaths are not Charles Manson or most other killers, but people who suffer from illness such as hypochondria, cleptomaniacism, and pathological lying. Guggenbl-Craig explains very eloquently how these psychopaths often exhibit the lack of Eros, the love complex. According to him this is the reason that they are psychopaths. This book is writen in such a way that both laymen and professionals can read it and glean large amounts of information about it. '

2. Robert Hare's Without Conscience:

'Psychopaths are social predators who charm, manipulate, and ruthlessly plow their way through life, leaving a broad trail of broken hearts, shattered expectations, and empty wallets. Completely lacking in conscience and in feelings for others, they selfishly take what they want and do as they please..." In Without Conscience Robert Hare argues convincingly that "psychopath" and "antisocial personality disorder" (a psychiatric term defined by a cluster of criminal behaviors) are not the same thing. Not all psychopaths are criminals, he says, and not all criminals are psychopaths. He proposes a psychopathy checklist that includes emotional/interpersonal traits such as glibness, grandiosity, lack of guilt, and shallow emotions, as well as social deviance traits such as impulsiveness, lack of responsibility, and antisocial behavior. His writing is lucid and illustrated with numerous anecdotes. The final chapter, "A Survival Guide," is especially recommended: as Hare writes, "Psychopaths are found in every segment of society, and there is a good chance that eventually you will have a painful or humiliating encounter with one." 3. Operators and Things

Ive read this book, and can recommend it for its insight into the psychopatthic soul. Ever wonder about people treat you like dirt? Youve just met an operator.

'The book chronicles her descent into madness (and atypically her rapid ascent out of it). It starts with some background to her breakdown - the oppressive office environment she worked in. This section in itself is fascinating. Here she highlights all the underhand manoeuvrings her managers and colleagues operate to advance their careers - more than a touch of Machiavelli. '
