...Now, I'm not so arrogant as to say "thou shalt have no other truth, thou shalt have no other version of history but mine". It is quite possible that in the version of history that I tell you about later on in this talk, I'm wrong. I'm not going to say that what I say, what I found in the archives, my interpretation of history, is 100 % pure gold, 22 carat, and that there is no flaw in it.
However, if freedom of speech means anything at all, it means the right to express opinions that may prove wrong.
It means, freedom of speech means, the right to be wrong in fact and this is an important right I think, it is a right which I feel very strongly about...

An elusive rat with a penchant for flying high has repeatedly forced Qantas to ground a Boeing 737 over fears it could chew through the aircraft's wiring.
A crew member spotted the rat in the cabin just after the plane landed in Melbourne from Sydney last month.
"The plane has been in and out of service since the rat was first seen," Qantas spokesman Simon Rushton said yesterday.
"It's an unusual occurrence and we've been working hard to isolate the animal and remove it," he said.
"The main issue is the potential for it to chew into aircraft components. It can be wiring, foam panels," Mr Rushton said.
The rat was nothing if not wily, evading exterminators using modern and traditional methods. It turned its nose up at poisoned baits, traps and sticky matts.
Upping the ante, exterminators sealed the aircraft at Melbourne on Monday and pumped it full of carbon dioxide to starve the rat of oxygen.
Yesterday afternoon, the plane was unsealed and "we found the rat - unfortunately for it - in a deceased state", Mr Rushton said.
Qantas believed the rat could have boarded the aircraft in Sydney and flown all over the country since then.
Mr Rushton denied Qantas had risked air safety by taking passengers in the plane while the rat was on board.

The Kastner Case
Introduction
The most notorious case of Nazi-Zionist collaboration is that involving Rudolf
Kastner.
Most Jewish people have never heard of Rudolf Kastner. Those who have, are
generally under the impression that there is some 'controversy' about
negotiations he undertook for 'the purchase of Jewish lives for money and
military equipment', but that he was 'fully rehabilitated' by the Supreme Court
of Israel.
The Accusations
Briefly, the accusations against Kastner are as follows:
Dr. Rudolf Verba, a Doctor of Science now serving at the British Medical
Research Council, was one of the few escapees from Auschwitz. In his memoirs
published in February, 1961, in the London Daily Herald, he wrote:
I am a Jew. In spite of that - indeed because of that - I accuse certain
Jewish leaders of one of the most ghastly deeds of the war.
This small group of quislings knew what was happening to their brethren in
Hitler's gas chambers and bought their own lives with the price of silence.
Among them was Dr. Kastner, leader of the council which spoke for all Jews in
Hungary. While I was prisoner number 44070 at Auschwitz - the number is still
on my arm - I compiled careful statistics of the exterminations...I took these
terrible statistics with me when I escaped in 1944 and I was able to give
Hungarian Zionist leaders three weeks notice that Eichmann planned to send a
million of their Jews to his gas chambers...Kastner went to Eichmann and told
him, 'I know of your plans; spare some Jews of my choice and I shall keep
quiet.'
Eichmann not only agreed, but dressed Kastner up in S.S. uniform and took him
to Belsen to trace some of his friends. Nor did the sordid bargaining end
there.
Kastner paid Eichmann several thousand dollars. With this little fortune,
Eichmann was able to buy his way to freedom when Germany collapsed, to set
himself up in the Argentine...(Ben Hecht, Perfidy, pp261-2)
These accusations are confirmed by the 'Eichmann Confessions' published in Life
magazine, 28 November and 5 December 1960:
I resolved to show how well a job could be done when the commander stands
100% behind it. By shipping the Jews off in a lightning operation, I wanted to
set an example for future campaigns elsewhere...In obedience to Himmler's
directive I now concentrated on negotiations with the Jewish political
officials in Budapest...Among them Dr. Rudolph Kastner, authorized
representative of the Zionist Movement. This Dr. Kastner was a young man about
my age, an ice-cold lawyer and a fanatical Zionist. He agreed to help keep the
Jews from resisting deportation - and even keep order in the collection camps -
if I could close my eyes and let a few hundred or a few thousand young Jews
emigrate illegally to Palestine. It was a good bargain. For keeping order in
the camps, the price...was not too high for me.
...We trusted each other perfectly. When he was with me, Kastner smoke cigarets
as though he was in a coffeehouse. While we talked he would smoke one aromatic
cigaret after another, taking them from a silver case and lighting them with a
silver lighter. With his great polish and reserve he would have made an ideal
Gestapo officer himself.
Dr. Kastner's main concern was to make it possible for a select group of
Hungarian Jews to emigrate to Israel...
As a matter of fact, there was a very strong similarity between our attitudes
in the S.S. and the viewpoint of these immensely idealistic Zionist
leaders....I believe that Kastner would have sacrificed a thousand or a hundred
thousand of his blood to achieve his political goal...'You can have the
others', he would say, 'but let me have this group here'. And because Kastner
rendered us a great service by helping keep the deportation camps peaceful, I
would let his groups escape. After all, I was not concerned with small groups
of a thousand or so Jews...That was the 'gentleman's agreement' I had with
Kastner (Hecht, ibid., p.260-61)
Quite clearly these accusations, whether true or false, do not relate merely to
'the purchase of Jewish lives for money and military equipment'.
Are the accusations against Kastner true?
According to the Government of Israel, they are a lie. When Malchiel Greenwald,
a strongly pro-Zionist Israeli citizen published these accusations against
Kastner, the Israeli Government did rather more than demand that his views
should not be broadcast. Because a prominent Zionist official (Dr. Kastner was
a spokesman for the Ministry of Trade and Industry) was involved, the Attorney
General of the State of Israel prosecuted Greenwald for criminal libel.
The Verdict
Let the verdict of Judge Benjamin Halevi (who later became one of the panel of
three judges that tried Eichmann) in Israel's District Court of Jerusalem speak
for itself, given in criminal case No. 124 of 1953. The Attorney General v.
Malchiel Greenwald. This material should be studied carefully.
The masses of Jews from Hungary's ghettos obediently boarded the
deportation trains without knowing their fate. They were full of confidence in
the false information that they were being transferred to Kenyermeze.
The Nazis could not have misled the masses of Jews so conclusively had they not
spread their false information through Jewish channels.
The Jews of the ghettos would not have trusted the Nazi or Hungarian rulers.
But they had trust in their Jewish leaders. Eichmann and others used this known
fact as part of their calculated plan to mislead the Jews. They were able to
deport the Jews to their extermination by the help of Jewish leaders.
The false information was spread by the Jewish leaders. The local leaders of
the Jews of Kluj and Nodvarod knew that other leaders were spreading such false
information and did not protest.
Those of the Jews who tried to warn their friends of the truth were persecuted
by the Jewish leaders in charge of the local 'rescue work'.
The trust of the Jews in the misleading information and their lack of knowledge
that their wives, children and themselves were about to be deported to the gas
chambers of Auschwitz led the victims to remain quiescent in their ghettos. It
seduced them into not resisting or hampering the deportation orders.
Dozens of thousands of Jews were guarded in their ghettos by a few dozen
police. Yet even vigorous young Jews made no attempt to overpower these few
guards and escape to nearby Rumania. No resistance activities to the
deportations were organized in these ghettos.
And the Jewish leaders did everything in their power to soothe the Jews in the
ghettos and to prevent such resistance activities.
The same Jews who spread in Kluj and Nodvarod the false rumor of Kenyermeze, or
confirmed it, the same public leaders who did not warn their own people against
the misleading statements, the same Jewish leaders who did not organize any
resistance or any sabotage of deportations...these same leaders did not join
the people of their community in their ride to Auschwitz, but were all included
in the Rescue train.
The Nazi organizers of extermination and the perpetrators of extermination
permitted Rudolf Kastner and the members of the Jewish Council in Budapest to
save themselves, their relatives, and friends. The Nazis did this as a means of
making the local Jewish leaders, whom they favoured, dependent on the Nazi
regime, dependent on its good will during the time of its fatal deportation
schedule. In short, the Nazis succeeded in bringing the Jewish leaders into
collaboration with the Nazis at the time of the catastrophe.
The Nazi chiefs knew that the Zionists were a most vital element in Jewry and
the most trusted by the Jews.
The Nazis drew a lesson from the Warsaw ghetto and other belligerent ghettos.
They learned that Jews were able to sell their lives very expensively if
honorably guided.
Eichmann did not want a second Warsaw. For this reason, the Nazis exerted
themselves to mislead and bribe the Jewish leaders.
The personality of Rudolph Kastner made him a convenient catspaw for Eichmann
and his clique, to draw into collaboration and make their task easier.
The question here is not, as stated by the Attorney General in his summation,
whether members of the Jewish Rescue Committee were or were not capable of
fulfilling their duty without the patronage of the S.S. chiefs. It is obvious
that without such S.S. Nazi patronage the Jewish Rescue Committee could not
have existed, and could have acted only as an underground.
The question is, as put by the lawyer for the defense, why were the Nazis
interested in the existence of the Rescue Committee? Why did the S.S. chiefs
make every effort to encourage the existence of the Jewish Rescue Committee?
Did the exterminators turn into rescuers?
The same question rises concerning the rescue of prominent Jews by these German
killers of Jews. Was the rescue of such Jews a part of the extermination plan
of the killers ?
The support given by the extermination leaders to Kastner's Rescue Committee
proves that indeed there was a place for Kastner and his friends in their Final
Solution for the Jews of Hungary - their total annihilation.
The Nazi's patronage of Kastner, and their agreement to let him save six
hundred prominent Jews, were part of the plan to exterminate the Jews. Kastner
was given a chance to add a few more to that number. The bait attracted him.
The opportunity of rescuing prominent people appealed to him greatly. He
considered the rescue of the most important Jews as a great personal success
and a success for Zionism. It was a success that would also justify his conduct
- his political negotiation with Nazis and the Nazi patronage of his
committee.
When Kastner received this present from the Nazis, Kastner sold his soul to the
German Satan.
The sacrifice of the vital interests of the majority of the Jews, in order
to rescue the prominents, was the basic element in the agreement between
Kastner and the Nazis. This agreement fixed the division of the nation into two
unequal camps: a small fragment of prominents, whom the Nazis promised Kastner
to save, on the one hand, and the great majority or Hungarian Jews whom the
Nazis designated for death, on the other hand. An imperative condition for the
rescue of the first camp by the Nazis was that Kastner will not interfere in
the action of the Nazis against the other camp and will not hamper them in its
extermination. Kastner fulfilled this condition. He concentrated his efforts in
the rescue of the prominents and treated the camp of the doomed as if they had
already been wiped out from the book of the living.
One cannot estimate the damage caused by Kastner's collaboration and put down
the number of victims which it cost Hungarian Jews. These are not only the
thousands of Jews in Nodvarod or any other community in the border area, Jews
who could escape through the border, had the chief of their rescue committee
fulfilled his duty toward them.
All of Kastner's answers in his final testimony were a constant effort to evade
this truth.
Kastner has tried to escape through every crack he could find in the wall of
evidence. When one crack was sealed in his face, he darted quickly to another.
(Judgement of Judge Benjamin Halevi, Criminal Case 124/53; Attorney General v.
Malchiel Greenwald, District Court, Jerusalem, June 22, 1955).
Judge Halevi reverts to the meeting of Kastner with the S.S. officers Becher
and Rudolf Hoess, commandant of Auschwitz at the time when the 'new line' of
rescuing Jews was revealed by Hoess. He says:
From this gathering in Budapest, it is obvious that the 'new line'
stretched from Himmler to Hoess, from Jutner to Becher and Krumey.
According to Kastner, however, these Nazis were all active in rescuing Jews.
This meeting of these important German guests in Budapest exposes the 'rescue'
work of Becher in its true light. It reveals also the extent of Kastner's
involvement in the inner circle of the chief German war criminals.
Just as the Nazi war criminals knew they needed an alibi and hoped to achieve
it by the rescue of a few Jews at the eleventh hour, so Kastner also needed an
alibi for himself.
Collaboration between the Jewish Agency Rescue Committee and the Exterminators
of the Jews was solidified in Budapest and Vienna. Kastner's duties were part
and parcel of the general duties of the S.S.
In addition to its Extermination Department and Looting Department, the Nazi
S.S. opened a Rescue Department headed by Kastner.
All these extermination, robbery and rescue activities of the S.S. were
coordinated under the management of Heinrich Himmler". (ibid.)
Judge Halevi continues:
Kastner perjured himself knowingly in his testimony before this court
when he denied he had interceded in Becher's behalf. Moreover, he concealed the
important fact that he interceded for Becher in the name of the Jewish Agency
and the Jewish World Congress.
As to the contents of Kastner's affidavit, it was enough for the defense to
provide Becher was a war criminal. It was up to the prosecution to remove
Becher from this status, if they wished to negate the affidavit.
The Attorney General admitted in his summation that Becher was a war
criminal.
The lies in the contents of Kastner's affidavit, the lies in his testimony
concerning the document, and Kastner's knowing participation in the activities
of Nazi war criminals, and his participation in the last minute fake rescue
activities - all these combine to show one overwhelming truth - that this
affidavit was not given in good faith.
Kastner knew well, as he himself testified, that Becher had never stood up
against the stream of Jewish extermination, as Kastner has declared in the
affidavit.
The aims of Becher and his superior, Himmler, were not to save Jews but to
serve the Nazi regime with full compliance. These is not truth and no good
faith in Kastner's testimony, 'I never doubted for one moment the good
intention of good Becher'.
It is clear that the positive recommendation by Kastner, not only in his own
name but also in the name of the Jewish Agency and the Jewish World Congress
was of decisive importance for Becher. Kastner did not exaggerate when he said
that Becher was released by the Allies because of his personal intervention.
The lies in the affidavit of Kastner and the contradictions and various
pretexts, which were proven to be lies, were sufficient to annul the value of
his statements and to prove that there was no good faith in his testimony in
favor of this German war criminal. Kastner's affidavit in favor of Becher was a
wilfully false affidavit given in favor of a war criminal to save him from
trial and punishment in Nuremberg.
Therefore, the defendant, Malchiel Greenwald, was correct in his accusations
against Rudolf Kastner in the first, second and fourth of his statements."
(ibid.)
Judge Halevi's verdict found Malchiel Greenwald generally innocent of libel
against Kastner, but fined him one Israeli pound for the one unproved
accusation - that Kastner had actually collected money from his Nazi partners
for his aide to their slaughter program. The judge also ordered the Government
of Israel to pay Greenwald two hundred Israeli pounds as court costs.
In fairness to Kastner it should me mentioned that as well as having been
unpaid, it was never established that he ever wore S.S. uniform.
If the story ended there, it would only prove conclusively that the individual
Kastner was a collaborator and the Israeli Government had attempted to defend
him, although facts brought out in the trial pointed to much more than that.
But the story does not end there.
The Reaction
Public opinion in Israel was almost unanimous in demanding that Kastner and his
associates should be put on trial. Remember that up to now it was Kastner's
accuser who was on trial.
The Communist Party newspaper Kol Ha'am (Voice of the People) wrote:
All those whose relatives were butchered by the Germans in Hungary know
now clearly that Jewish hands helped the mass murder" (23 June 1955)
In the authoritative Israeli newspaper Ha'aretz, the leading political
journalist, Dr. Moshe Keren wrote:
Kastner must be brought to trial as a Nazi collaborator. And at this
trial, Kastner should defend himself as a private citizen, and not be defended
by the Israeli Government..." (14 July 1955).
*Haboker*, the pro-Government General Zionist party paper stated:
The public wants to know the real facts about Kastner, and not about him
alone. The only way to find out the truth is to put all the Rescue Committee
people on trial and give them a chance to offer their defense." (23 June
1955)
But public opinion was not quite unanimous. The problem with bringing Kastner
and his associates to trial was that his associates were the Government of
Israel.
As the evening paper *Yedi'ot Aharonot* said:
If Kastner is brought to trial the entire government faces a total
political and national collapse - as a result of what such a trial may
disclose." (23 June 1955)
Accordingly, the Government of Israel did not put Kastner on trial, instead it
filed an appeal against the acquittal of Greenwald for criminal libel.
As Dr. Karlebach wrote in Israel's largest evening newspaper, *Ma'ariv*:
What is going on here? The Attorney General has to mobilize all the
government power, appear himself in court, to justify and defend collaboration
with Himmler! And in order to defend a quisling, the government must drag
through the streets one of the grimmest stories of our history!
At 11 P.M. the verdict was given. At 11 A.M. next morning the government
announces the defense of Kastner will be renewed - an appeal filed. What
exemplary expediency! Since when does this government possess such
lawyer-genius who can weigh in one night the legal chances of an appeal on a
detailed, complex verdict of three hundred pages?! (24 June 1955)
At the appeal hearings before the Supreme Court, the Attorney General of
Israel, Chaim Cohen, explained clearly why the Government of Israel was
defending Kastner so strongly:
The man Kastner does not stand here
as a private individual. He was a recognized representative, official or
non-official of the Jewish National Institutes in Palestine and of the Zionist
Executive; and I come here in this court to defend the representative of our
national institutions." (Hecht, p. 268)
The truth of this statement cannot be denied. Kastner's collaboration was not that of an individual. It was the collaboration of the Zionist leadership.
So far, it has only been established that the Government of Israel continued to
support a Nazi collaborator after the facts about his collaboration had been
conclusively established in an Israeli court. But the story gets worse.
The Supreme Court of Israel unanimously found that Becher was indeed a Nazi war
criminal and that Kastner had without justification, and in the name of the
Jewish Agency, helped Becher to escape justice. On this point Greenwald was
acquitted of libel and Kastner was not 'fully rehabilitated'.
The Supreme Court also accepted the facts established in the lower court
- that Kastner deliberately concealed the truth about Auschwitz from the
majority of Hungarian Jews in exchange for Nazi permission to take a thousand
or so to Palestine. Again, Kastner was far from being 'fully rehabilitated'.
The Majority Judgement
But now comes the really nasty bit. After unanimously acknowledging these
facts, the Supreme Court of Israel, by a majority of three to two, found
that Kastner's actions were morally justifiable and convicted Greenwald
of criminal libel for calling this 'collaboration'.
Kastner's actions only proved that he was a Nazi collaborator. It is the
defense of these actions by the Government and Courts of Israel that prove
conclusively that Zionism approves of Nazi collaboration.
The majority of the Supreme Court of Israel did not rehabilitate
Kastner. They joined him.
Let us read from the majority judgement of Supreme Court Judge Shlomo Chesin:
...What point was there in telling the people boarding the trains in
Kluj, people struck by fate and persecuted, as to what awaits them at the end
of their journey...Kastner spoke in detail of the situation, saying, 'The
Hungarian Jew was a branch which long ago dried up on the tree'. This vivid
description coincides with the testimony of another witness about the Hungarian
Jews, 'This was a big Jewish community in Hungary, without any ideological
Jewish backbone' (Moshe Shweiger, a Kastner aide in Budapest, protocol 465).
I fully agree with my friend, Judge Agranot, when he states that, 'The Jews of
Hungary, including those in the countryside, were not capable, neither
physically nor mentally, to carry out resistance operations with force against
the deportation scheme'...From this point of view no rescue achievement could
have resulted by disclosing the Auschwitz news to the Jewish leaders there, and
this...is a consideration which on can properly conclude that Kastner had in
front of his eyes.
...And I take one more step. I am certain that the silence of Kastner when he
arrived in Kluj was premeditated and calculated and did not result from his
great despair because of the helplessness of the Jewish community. Even then, I
say, this is still not considered wilful collaboration and assistance in the
extermination, because all the signs indicate that Kastner's efforts were aimed
at rescue and rescue on a big scale...And towards the end I take one last step.
In doing so I go very far and say that even if Kastner ordered himself to keep
silent knowingly, in submission to the strong will of the Nazis, in order to
save a few Jews from Hell - this is still no proof that he stained his hands by
collaborating with the enemies of his people and carrying out their plan to
exterminate most of the Jewish community in Hungary.
Even if, through these activities of his - or rather, his omission - the
extermination became easier. And as to the moral issue, the question is not
whether a man is allowed to kill many in order to save a few, or vice-versa.
The question is altogether in another sphere and should be defined as follows:
A man is aware that a whole community is awaiting its doom. He is allowed to
make efforts to save a few, although part of his efforts involve concealment of
truth from the many or should he disclose the truth to many though it is his
best opinion that this way everybody will perish. I think that the answer is
clear. What good will the blood of the few bring if everybody is to
perish?...As I said, I am not arguing with the basic factual findings of the
learned President of the Jewish District Court (Judge Halevi) but it seems to
me, with all due respect, that his findings do not, as of necessity, demand the
conclusion he has arrived at. That is to say, collaboration on the part of
Kastner in the extermination of the Jews. And that they better coincide with
bad leadership both from a moral and public point of view...
In my opinion, one can say outright that if you find out that Kastner
collaborated with the enemy because he did not disclose to the people who
boarded the trains in Kluj that they were being led to extermination, one has
to put on trial today Danzig, Herman, Hanzi, Brand, Revis and Marton, and many
more leaders and half-leaders who gagged themselves in an hour of crisis and
did not inform others of what was known to them and did not warn and did not
cry out of the coming danger....
Because of all this I cannot confirm the conclusion of the District Court with
regard to the accusation that Greenwald has thrown on Kastner of collaboration
with the Nazis in exterminating the Jewish people in Hungary during the last
war." (Hecht, ibid., pp.270-2)
In other words, the Court approved of Kastner's contempt for the Hungarian Jews
and could not allow him to be condemned for doing exactly what many other
Zionist leaders had half-leaders did - concealing their knowledge of the Nazi
extermination plans so that Jews would board the trains to Auschwitz peacefully
while their Zionist 'leaders' boarded a different train for Palestine.
The Minority Judgement
It cannot be said that all top Zionists leaders actively approved of
Nazi collaboration in this way. Indeed the most precise answer to this
sickening judgement of Judge Chesin is provided in the minority judgement of
Supreme Court Judge Moshe Silberg:
I do not say that he was the only man who possessed information among the
leaders. It is quite possible that somebody else as well does not have a clear
conscience with regards to this concealment. But we are dealing here with the
guilt of Kastner and we do not have to make judgements on the guilt of
others....
The declaration of the learned Attorney General therefore shrinks into an
opinion....'Kastner was convinced and believed that there was no ray of hope
for the Jews of Hungary, almost for none of them, and as he, as a result of his
personal despair, did not disclose the secret of the extermination in order not
to endanger or frustrate the rescue of the few - therefore he acted in good
faith and should not be accused of collaborating with the Nazis in expediting
the extermination of the Jews, even though, in fact, he brought about its
result.'
I am compelled to state that it is very difficult for me to conceive such an
intention. Is this good faith? Can a single man, even in cooperation with some
of his friends, yield to despair on behalf and without the knowledge of 800,000
other people? This is, in my opinion, the decisive consideration in the problem
facing us. The charge emanating from the testimony of the witnesses against
Kastner is that had they known of the Auschwitz secret, then thousands or tens
of thousands would have been able to save their lives by local, partial,
specific or indirect rescue operations like local revolts, resistance, escapes,
hidings, concealment of children with Gentiles, forging of documents, ransom
money, bribery, etc. - and when this is the case and when one deals with many
hundreds of thousands, how does a human being, a mortal, reject with complete
certainty and with an extreme 'no' the efficiency of all the many and varied
rescue ways? How can he examine the tens of thousands of possibilities? Does he
decide instead of God? Indeed, he who can act with such a usurpation of the
last hope of hundreds of thousands is not entitled to claim good faith as his
defense. The penetrating question quo warrento is a good answer to a claim of
such good faith...
If the superintendent of a big hospital lets thousands of sick people die so
that he may devote himself to the sure rescue of one soul, he will come out
guilty, at least morally, even if it is proven that he as an individual
erroneously thought that there was no hope of saving the other patients. He is
a collaborator with the angel of death.
Either a complete atrophy of the soul or a blind involvement with complete loss
of senses and proportion in his small but personal rescue operation could bring
a man to such a gigantic, hazardous play.
And if all this is not enough to annul the claim of good faith which was put
before us on behalf of Kastner by the Attorney General, then Kastner himself
comes and annuls it altogether. Not only did he never make this claim, but his
own words prove the contrary. He writes in his report to the Jewish Agency that
the Committee sent emissaries to many ghettos in the countryside and pleaded
with them to organize escapes and to refuse to board the trains. And though the
story of these pleadings is untrue, and the silence of Kastner in Kluj is
proven, the very uttering of these statements entirely contradicts the claim
that Kastner had concealed the news about the fate of the ghetto inmates in
good faith and only as a result of his complete despairing of the chances of
escaping or resisting the Germans. You can not claim at the same time
helplessness and activity. Anyway, such a claim is not convincing...
We can sum up with three facts:
A. That the Nazis didn't want to have a great revolt - 'Second Warsaw' - nor
small revolts, and their passion was to have the extermination machine working
smoothly without resistance. This fact was known to Kastner from the best
source - from Eichmann himself - And he had additional proofs of that when he
witnessed all the illusionary and misleading tactics which were being taken by
the Nazis from the first moment of occupation.
B. That the most efficient means to paralyze the resistance with - or the
escape of a victim is to conceal from him the plot of the coming murder. This
fact is known to every man and one does not need any proof of evidence for
this.
C. That he, Kastner, in order to carry out the rescue plan for the few
prominents, fulfilled knowingly and without good faith the said desire of the
Nazis, thus expediting the work of exterminating the masses.
And also the rescue of Becher by Kastner...He who is capable of rescuing this
Becher from hanging proves that the atrocities of this great war criminal were
not so horrifying or despicable in his eyes...I couldn't base the main guilt of
Kastner on this fact had it been alone, but when it is attached even from afar
to the whole scene of events it throws retroactive light on the whole affair
and serves as a dozen proofs of our conclusion."(Supreme Court Judge, Moshe
Silberg, 1957)
Conclusion
If that had been the majority judgement, one could say that whatever their
attitudes to the Arabs, and whatever their past behaviour might have been under
pressure, the Zionist leadership today did not advocate collaboration with the
Nazis.
But Judge Silberg's judgement was that of a minority.
The Kastner case is therefore not an alleged episode in past history.
It is a continuing controversy in which the top Zionist leadership of Israel
stand indicted of continuing to publicly defend collaboration with the Nazis in
the extermination of Jews.
Despite the unanimous finding of the Supreme Court of Israel that Kurt Becher
was a major war criminal, the Jewish Agency (World Zionist Organization)
refused to withdraw the fraudulent certificate Kastner gave on their behalf,
which saved Becher from hanging, and allowed him to remain a free man in West
Germany, the head of several corporations and with an estimated personal worth
of $30 million.
Becher has even used his certification as a 'good' SS officer to give evidence
in support of his associates at other war crimes trials in West Germany.
Since the prosecution, representing the Israeli Government agreed with the
Supreme Court that Becher was a major war criminal, one can only pressure that
the Israeli Government did not want him put on trial for fear of what might
come out.
Likewise, none of Kastner's associates on the Zionist Relief and Rescue
Committee or his bosses in the Jewish Agency have ever been put on trial as
demanded by Israeli public opinion. Let alone the hundreds of 'prominents' who
helped Kastner to reassure the Hungarian Jews that they were going to
Kenyermeze and not Auschwitz, in exchange for tickets on the one train that
took them eventually to Palestine.
As for Kastner himself, he will cause no further embarrassment to the Zionist
leadership with his undisputed claims that everything he did was approved by
the Jewish Agency (World Zionist Organization) leadership in Palestine. He is
'now dead'. Or putting it less delicately, on 3 March 1957 he was shot by Zeev
Eckstein - immediately after the appeal hearings were concluded, and before the
judgement 'rehabilitating' him was delivered. Eckstein was not a Hungarian
avenger. He was a paid undercover agent of the Israeli secret service. (Hecht,
ibid., p.208). Another 'fantastic allegation' no doubt; but admitted in court
during the murder trial).
The facts of the Kastner case show that the very existence of the Jewish Agency
(World Zionist Organization) was an actual help to the Nazis and that more
could have been saved if the Zionist movement had not existed. Having a State
that approves of actions like those of Kastner for an insurance policy, is like
using petroleum for a fire extinguisher.

IS IT TRUE that in 1941 and again in 1942, the
German Gestapo offered all European Jews transit to Spain, if they would
relinquish all their property in Germany and Occupied France; on condition
that:

b) all the deportees be transported from Spain to the USA or British
colonies, and there to remain; with entry visas to be arranged by the Jews
living there; and
c) $1000.00 ransom for each family to be furnished by the Agency, payable
upon the arrival of the family at the Spanish border at the rate of 1000
families daily.
IS IT TRUE that the Zionist leaders in
Switzerland and Turkey received this offer with the clear understanding that
the exclusion of Palestine as a destination for the deportees was based on
an agreement between the Gestapo and the Mufti.
IS IT TRUE that the answer of the Zionist
leaders was negative, with the following comments:
a) ONLY Palestine would be considered as a destination for the deportees.
b) The European Jews must accede to suffering and death greater in measure

offer was made with the full knowledge that the alternative to this offer
was the gas chamber.

IS IT TRUE that the same Zionist hierarchy
again refused this offer (after the gas chambers had already taken a toll of
millions).
IS IT TRUE that during the height of the
killings in the war, 270 Members of the British Parliament proposed to
evacuate 500,000 Jews from Europe, and resettle them in British colonies, as
a part of diplomatic negotiations with Germany.
IS IT TRUE that this offer was rejected by the
Zionist leaders with the observation "Only to Palestine!"
IS IT TRUE that the British government granted
visas to 300 rabbis and their families to the Colony of Mauritius, with
passage for the evacuees through Turkey. The "Jewish Agency"
leaders sabotaged this plan with the observation that the plan was disloyal
to Palestine, and the 300 rabbis and their families should be gassed.
IS IT TRUE that during the course of the
negotiations mentioned above, Chaim Weitzman, the first "Jewish
statesman" stated: "The most valuable part of the Jewish nation is
already in Palestine, and those Jews living outside Palestine are not too
important". Weitzman's cohort, Greenbaum, amplified this statement with
the observation "One cow in Palestine is worth more than all the Jews
in Europe".
There are additional similar
questions to be asked of these atheist degenerates known as "Jewish
statesmen", but for the time being let them respond to the ten questions.
These Zionist
"statesmen" with their great foresight, sought to bring an end two
two-thousand years of Divinely ordained Jewish subservience and political
tractability. With their offensive militancy, they fanned the fires of
anti-Semitism in Europe, and succeeded in forging a bond of Jew-hatred between
Nazi-Germany and the surrounding countries.
These are the
"statesmen" who organized the irresponsible boycott against Germany in
1933. This boycott hurt Germany like a fly attacking an elephant - but it
brought calamity upon the Jews of Europe. At a time when America and England
were at peace with the mad-dog Hitler, the Zionist "statesmen" forsook
the only plausible method of political amenability; and with their boycott
incensed the leader of Germany to a frenzy. And then, after the bitterest
episode in Jewish history, these Zionist "statesmen" lured the broken
refugees in the DP camps to remain in hunger and deprivation, and to refuse
relocation to any place but Palestine; only for the purpose of building their
State.
The Zionist "statesmen"
have incited and continue to incite an embittered Jewish youth to futile wars
against world powers like England, and against masses of hundreds of millions of
Arabs.

What may befall the Jewish
inhabitants of Palestine, of the Arab crescent, Europe, or the USA; is of no
concern to these Zionist leaders. The rising anti-Semitism in the Western World
is the product of their "statesmanship".
Under the guise of "love of
Israel", the Zionist "statesmen" seduced many Jews to replace
devotion to the Torah and its Sages with devotion to the scoundrel who founded
Zionism. It is of no little significance that Herzl originally sought conversion
of the Jews as a solution to the problems of the Diaspora. When he realized that
this was not acceptable to the Jewish masses, he contrived Zionism as a
satisfactory alternative!
A look into history reveals that
this very same type of "statesmen" opposed the call of Jeremiah the
prophet to yield to the minions of Nebuchadnezzar at the destruction of the
first Temple. Five centuries later, Rabbi Yochonon Ben Zakai appealed to the
people to surrender to Titus the Roman to avoid bloodshed. The
"statesmen" rejected this appeal, and the second Temple was destroyed
by the Romans. --- And now for the past fifty years, the Zionist
"statesmen" rebuff the leadership of our Sages; and continue in their
policy of fomenting anti-Semitism. When will they stop?? Must every Jew in
America also suffer?? - Even the Nazi monsters had more sense, and gave up their
war before all Germany was destroyed. The Zionist "statesmen" ridicule
the sacred oath which the Creator placed upon the Jews in the Diaspora. Our
Torah, in Tractate Ksubos, folio 111, specifies that the Creator, blessed be He,
swore the Jews not to occupy the Holy Land by force, even if it appears that
they have the force to do so; and not rebel against the Nations. And the Creator
warned that if His oath be desecrated, Jewish flesh would be "open
property", like the animals in the forest!! These are words of our Torah;
and these concepts have been cited in Maimonides' "Igeres Teimon",
"Be'er HaGola", "Ahavas Yehonosson", and in "Toras
Moshe" of the Chasam Sofer.
IT IS COMMON KNOWLEDGE THAT ALL
THE SAGES AND SAINTS IN EUROPE AT THE TIME OF HITLER'S RISE DECLARED THAT HE WAS

prays for Divine help in carrying out his crime. We should pray that Zionism and
its fruits vanish from the Earth, and that we be redeemed by the Messiah with
dispatch.
A prisoner is released only when
he has served his time, or if he is pardoned by the President for good behavior.
If he attempts escape and is apprehended, his term is lengthened, besides the
beating he receives when he is caught.
Faithful Jews- for over three and
one-half thousand years, in all parts of the world, through all trials, our
grandfathers and grandmothers marched through seas of blood and tears in order
to keep the Faith of the Torah unswervingly. If we have compassion for

Many times in the past have
segments of our people been defrauded by false messiahs - but none of the false
messiahs has been as fallacious and delusory as the lie of Zionism. With our
historical experience as our guide, no retribution has been or will be greater
than the retribution for giving credence to Zionism. If we wish our
exile-sentence commuted, we must appeal through repentance; and through total
physical and spiritual observance of the Sabbath, laws of family purity, and
study of Torah.
Let it be clearly understood that
never in Jewish history (even in the time of Jeroboam or Achav) have such
hostile atheists stood at the helm of the Jewish people as today.
How can we plead to the Almighty
for mercy while we tolerate these vile, "wicked" leaders as spokesmen!

Again, identifying a small minority. (as described by another small minority of Trotskyites).
Ya know, Trotsky tended to be riight about a lot of things. Unfortunately, he died with an icepick in his brain.
The liberal, enlightened, and progressive European Jews shared a similar fate. They got to watch as they themselves, their children, and their loved ones were turned to soap and lampshades by all those progressive German (National Socialists).
The Irgun was one (small) faction of Zionism, an extreme branch of the Jabotinskyites. They had limited strategic links to the German government, which they used to improve their position, counter the British stranglehold on escaping Jewish migration to Palestine, and to smuggle Jews out of Europe. Dirty business. Many of them were right bastards. Nasty world.
Of course, that great beacon of Socialism, the USSR (OK, "Stalin", not Trotsky) also tried to form a strategic pact with Hitler... and from a position of considerably greater power than did a few hundred Jews in the Irgun. Lets leave that "secret" history alone, huh?
Interestingly, Jabotinsky was one of the strongest and most consistant Jewish enemy of the Nazis, supporting boycotts of Germany when Liberal Jews sought to appease Hitler.
Again, the overriding fact is that most Zionists fought against the Nazis.
Read Van Paassen's book, "The Forgotten Ally" (1943). He focused on Jewish participation in the Allied Forces' battle against Nazis in the Middle East, a subject that was ignored or "forgotten." It describes the unheralded and unreported activities of Jews in Palestine who courageously helped the British to prevent German tanks under Rommel from capturing all of North Africa and the Middle East. This crucial victory came at a time when England stood practically alone since America had not yet begun to show its might.

The Reaction
Public opinion in Israel was almost unanimous in demanding that Kastner and his associates should be put on trial. Remember that up to now it was Kastner's accuser who was on trial.
The Communist Party newspaper Kol Ha'am (Voice of the People) wrote:
ll those whose relatives were butchered by the Germans in Hungary know now clearly that Jewish hands helped the mass murder" (23 June 1955)
In the authoritative Israeli newspaper Ha'aretz, the leading political journalist, Dr. Moshe Keren wrote:
Kastner must be brought to trial as a Nazi collaborator. And at this trial, Kastner should defend himself as a private citizen, and not be defended by the Israeli Government..." (14 July 1955).
*Haboker*, the pro-Government General Zionist party paper stated:
The public wants to know the real facts about Kastner, and not about him alone. The only way to find out the truth is to put all the Rescue Committee people on trial and give them a chance to offer their defense." (23 June 1955)
But public opinion was not quite unanimous. The problem with bringing Kastner and his associates to trial was that his associates were the Government of Israel.
As the evening paper *Yedi'ot Aharonot* said:
If Kastner is brought to trial the entire government faces a total political and national collapse - as a result of what such a trial may disclose." (23 June 1955)
Accordingly, the Government of Israel did not put Kastner on trial, instead it filed an appeal against the acquittal of Greenwald for criminal libel.
As Dr. Karlebach wrote in Israel's largest evening newspaper, *Ma'ariv*:
What is going on here? The Attorney General has to mobilize all the government power, appear himself in court, to justify and defend collaboration with Himmler! And in order to defend a quisling, the government must drag through the streets one of the grimmest stories of our history!

Those that began as members of a fringe organization in 1948 (it was disbanded by the IDF *because* of this assasination), later modified their positions. That's the way things go (Nixon in China, etc). See histical quotes, below.
The Stern Gang opposed Bernadotte's policies, including his recommendatiion that Jerusalem be placed under UN control. One thing is for certain - the situation in the Middle East is very complicated, and so many webs of deception have been spun that the spiders are likely to trap themselves. It seems that David is the first poster on Melbourne Indy (that I can remember anyway) who argues for Zionism with any kind of logic. He is also the first one to acknowledge some of the crimes of Zionists.

That's an exaggeration. Desperate people - whos desperation is exploited and manipulated by various groups - blowing themselves and various (presumably innocent) Israelis up, doesn't even remotely compare to organised death camps.

That certainly puts some perspective on the situation. However, it seems that minority of Zionist collaborators had a very large influence on the formation of Israel - a number of them reaching leadership positions. Why were these Quislings allowed into leadership positions?

Assuming that what you say is true David - that these very nasty criminals are a minority within Zionism - why do the "good Zionists" repeatedly tolerate them?
Why did American Zionists (among others) produce an expansionist document like PNAC? (Setting Israel up for a fall perhaps?)
Why do so many Zionists dismiss virtually any criticisms of Israel as "antisemitism", usually without answering those criticisms?
Why are many American Christian fundamentalists supporting Israel? Could it have anything to do with the biblical apocalypse they believe in?
Wouldn't it be smarter for Israel to stop treating the Palestinians like shit, thus going some way to neutralise the fanatics?
Why has Israel allowed itself to become so pathetically dependant on the US, while it's lobbyists (who don't live in the Middle East and are thus insulated) lobby for provocative legislation which bans boycotts of Israeli products and even criticism of Israel?

I am writing to express my deepest, heart-felt, sadness regarding your April 2001 feature entitled, "Jews: Do They Really Run the World? Is it Hate to Ask that Question?" As someone who has contributed to, and financially supported, your work and magazine for years, I am now suddenly confronted by the use of "The Free American" to promote hatred against the Jewish people, not just the "Jews" alleged to be controlling the world. For this I express my sincere apologies to the intelligent remnant that perceive, as I do, the abuse of the First Amendment (freedom of speech) in this issue.
Above all, I am extremely disappointed in you for publishing such a contextually biased and hate filled article, allegedly by an honest, investigative, anonymous author, who on every page provides egregious distortions condemning the Jewish race in general as people "by their nature, due to their religion and upbringing, are virulently, relentlessly 'specially anti-Christ.'" You abuse our friendship, my support, and my name to justify your cause. You used me as an example of one of few "good" Jews in your opening paragraph by writing "there were many Jews who believed in Christ, called Messianic Jews, . . . who were not involved with any anti-Christ movement." These quotes aptly exemplify the ignorance, and subliminal racism, of your publication. The term "nature" implies a genetic predisposition or evolution, but "religion and upbringing" refers more accurately to behavioral and cultural determinants of admittedly biased and likewise hate-filled Jewish ideologies. The second quote implies the vast majority of Jewish people are taught to hate and fear versus love and respect Christians and/or Christianity. As a Jewish man and author of "Why It's Time Jews and Christians Unite," I submit this was not my experience during family or religious instruction. Nor do I believe that Jews, in general, are reared to distrust gentiles any more than other Jews, or any more than gentiles are taught, through works like yours, to distrust Jews.
I was obviously wrong to assume you understood the destructive manner in which populations (we refer to as "sheeple") have been, and with your article are being, divided to conquer the global flock. For this, I also apologize to my supporters since I suspect your feature has done more to misinform the American patriot community than any "anti-Semitic" publication I have read to date, including The Protocols of the Elders of Sion (the Masonic document that was re-named "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" following its reworking to propagandize, like your article, Jewish hate). Deceptively, you stated, "The author went to great lengths to point out that all Jews were not necessarily involved" in global fascism and genocides. Where in the article were these "great lengths?" Why would you even add the word "necessarily" in the above quote? This implies your own belief that possibly all Jews participate in this sinister plot, or your desire to raise such suspicions in gullible readers. Cunningly, stating your own position/bias, you challenged "anyone who could, to dispute the facts" presented by the anonymous author. Why would anyone bother when you, the editor/publisher-who most readers assume did his due diligence in substantiating the author's claims (suspiciously missing references)-stated, "It was factual, a little frightening, and dead on when put into context with current events." Regarding current events, your publication fits precisely the "divide and conquer" New World Order protocols.
Time does not permit me to respond to almost every page and paragraph of the article that included gross misrepresentations. I will focus merely on two glaring deceptions: the alleged Jewish-ness of international bankers, particularly the Rothschilds, and the alleged "Jewish control" over Hollywood and the liberal media in general. The following is excerpted largely from my forthcoming book, Death in the Air: Globalism, Terrorism and Toxic Warfare (Tetrahedron, LLC; 1- 888-508-4787). I have added "not Jewish (NJ)" to the globalists and international financers who shame other religions.
Rothschild, J.P. Morgan, and the Rockefeller Banking Axis
The most infamous anti-Jewish document in history-The Protocols of the Elders of Sion was reworked (into the "Elders of Zion") during a meeting led in 1773 by Mayer Rothschild, a non-Hebrew Khazar. The Khazar's ancestry, according to most scholars, stems from Noah's son Yefet (Japheth), predating Abraham's covenant with God, the tribe of Judah, and therefore, the first genetically Jewish people.
Baigent et al in Holy Blood Holy Grail, provided a harsh reality check regarding the Masonic, not "Jewish," origin of these infamous Protocols. Originally a secret document that heralded a deadly totalitarian plot for herding the masses into a "New World Order" run by financial elitists, the document had been turned into an anti-Semitic propaganda piece during the Russian revolution. "By 1919, the Protocols were also being circulated by Alfred Rosenberg," who later became the chief racial theoretician and propagandist for the National Socialist Party in Germany. The document was said to have advanced convincing "proof" of an "international Jewish conspiracy." Hitler referred to it in Mein Kampf with vicious conviction as to the document's authenticity. Today, experts correctly view the Protocols as an insidious forgery distracting from the original globalists' document.
Professor Carroll Quigley (NJ)-President Clinton's teacher and mentor at Georgetown University during the mid-1960s-explained that the financial elite maintained global colonialism among their highest aspirations. In order to accomplish this, secret societies were administered largely on behalf of the Rothschild (NJ) and Rhodes (NJ) dynasties. The secret societies in which they invested had inner member structures that were shielded by successively larger outer circles. The central part of the structure was established by March, 1891, using Rhodes's money. Rothschild trustee Lord Alfred Milner directed the organization that was called "The Round Table." This organization "worked behind the scenes at the highest levels of British government, influencing foreign policy and England's involvement and conduct of WWI" and later WWII.
According to secret society investigator and author Jan van Helsing, the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) evolved largely from efforts of members of the Committee of 300 and The Round Table. Other sources have reported that MI6 has exercised far greater worldwide control than most people realize. More wiretaps in the United States, for instance, have been administered on behalf of MI6 than the CIA. In this regard, Loftus and Aarons reported in The Secret War Against The Jews (St. Martins Press, 1996), that, "for the last fifty years, virtually every Jewish citizen, organization, and charity in the world has been the victim of electronic surveillance by Great Britain, with the knowing and willing assistance of the intelligence services of the United States."
To set the stage for the first World War, The Round Table directors developed the "Royal Institute for International Affairs," or RIIA. It was also known as "Chatham House" and had among its members Lords Albert Grey (NJ) and Arnold Toynbee (NJ). The latter was known as the éminence grise of MI6.
Apparently the Masonic influence in the affairs of the world's leading intelligence organization has been striking and esoteric. Even the name "MI6" reflected knowledge of the ancient mystical arcana, as discussed in my earlier book Healing Codes for the Biological Apocalypse (Tetrahedron, LLC, 1999).
It was Lord Toynbee of the MI6 who, following "brainstorming" sessions conducted at the Wellington House into ways to condition the public into accepting World War I, delivered the orders from the Committee of 300. Dr. John Coleman, a retired MI6 agent, documented this in his excellent book, Conspirators' Heirarchy. Other famous members of the Committee of 300, past and present, included many non-Jewish leaders including George Bush, George Schultz, J.P. Morgan, John M. Forbes, David Rockefeller, and Cardinal Spellman.
Another leading committee member, Lord Rothmere, used his newspapers to test the Wellington House "social conditioning" strategies. Following a six- month test period, it was learned that eighty-seven percent of the public had formed their opinions without using critical or rational judgment-the intended result-much like the risk posed by The Free American Jewish-hate article. Thereafter, the English working class, according to van Helsing, "was subjected to sophisticated propaganda methods to convince them that they had to send their sons by the thousands to their deaths" in WWI.
In response, Teddy Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States, complained during his 1912 election campaign, "Behind the visible government there is an invisible government upon the throne that owes the people no loyalty and recognizes no responsibility. To destroy this invisible government, to undo the ungodly union between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the task of a statesman."
From Shadow Governors to Rockefeller High Finance
The solidification of secret society power in America began in 1776 around the time Adam Weishaupt was establishing the Order of the Bavarian Illuminati on behalf of the Rothschilds. The anonymous Free American author correctly detailed how Weishaupt, genetically Jewish "converted to Catholicism and became a Catholic priest. . . ." before he formed for the Rothschilds the Illuminati organization. Thus, how "Jewish" was he?
Your article, and Freemasons, obviously wish to pin the blame for global genocides and agendas on "Jews" rather than Freemasons currently seeking the deception of patriotic America, yet the founding of the United States was the result of the secret plan carried out by Freemasons beginning in the 17th century. Freemasons had organized the American War of Independence. The U.S. Constitution was penned and signed by Freemasons. Almost a third of American presidents have been Freemasons. The Great Seal of the United States with the pyramid and all seeing eye, the bald eagle that replaced the phoenix, the original thirteen states, stars and stripes, were all adopted symbols of Freemasonry. Though they had been put in place by Weishaupt to convey Rothschild wishes, the symbolism dated back to the Masons of ancient Egypt. The Illuminated pyramid on the American dollar bill was the design of Philip Rothschild (NJ) as Ayn Rand, his lover, divulged in Atlas Shrugged.
Although early American political leaders Benjamin Franklin (NJ) and Thomas Jefferson (NJ) heavily favored private centralized banking, in 1790 Alexander Hamilton (NJ) was appointed secretary of the treasury, and reformed policy heavily favoring his silent benefactors Mayer Amschel Rothschild and his sons. A year later, Hamilton established the "First National Bank of the United States" fashioned after the "Bank of England." The Rothschilds controlled it.
After Mayer Rothschild's death in 1812, Nathan took control over the family fortune and opened the "Nathan Mayer Rothschild & Sons Bank" in London, Vienna, Paris, and Berlin. In America it was represented by J. P. Morgan (NJ) & Co., August Belmont (NJ) & Co., and Kuhn Loeb & Company.
During the American Civil War, the Rothschilds financed both sides of the conflict. "The reasons leading to this civil war," van Helsing wrote, "were almost completely due to the actions and provocations of Rothschild agents." One of the troublemakers, founder of the "Knights of the Golden Circle," was George Bickley (NJ). Bickley extolled the advantages of succession from the Union by the Confederate States. On the other side, the Rothschild-J. P. Morgan and August Belmont banks financed the Union. In addition, Rothschild' s London bank supported the North, while its Paris bank funded the South. It was a glorious business.
President Lincoln finally caught wind of the scam and withheld immense interest payments to the Rothschilds. He then petitioned Congress to print "greenbacks"-dollars over which only the Union held printing power. In response, the furious Rothschilds are said to have arranged his assassination. John Wilkes Booth murdered Lincoln on April 14, 1865. Booth was freed from jail due to the efforts of the Knights of the Golden Circle. He spent the duration of his days living comfortably in England, funded by the Rothschilds.
By the early 1900s, the Masonic-linked "secret societies," including the CFR, held a stranglehold on America's leading social, economic, and political institutions. In 1913, American banking mogul William Averell Harriman (NJ) was initiated into the Skull & Bones fraternity. During the "Roaring Twenties" Harriman became the chief Western financier of communism, the Russian governments, and their Ruskombank-where Max May, a Skull & Bones brother of Harriman, was vice-president. May was simultaneously vice-president of the Guaranty Trust Company, controlled by J. P. Morgan and by extension the Nathan Mayer Rothschild Bank. Other Skull & Bones members partnered with J. P. Morgan at that time included Harold Stanley and Thomas Cochran (NJ). The capital used to create the Guaranty Trust came from the Harrimans, Rockefellers, Vanderbilts (NJ), and Whitneys (NJ)-all families with blood kin in the Skull & Bones. Percy Rockefeller (NJ) represented his family's interest in the Skull & Bones as well as Guaranty Trust, which he directed from 1915 to 1930. Rothschild and Bavarian Illuminati representatives helped establish the Rockefeller's European Standard Oil empire as well as Carnegie's steelworks and Harriman's railroad.
Many ignorant "patriots" have claimed the Rockefeller family is Jewish. This stems largely from an article spread in "Christian" circles by Richard Darcy, Jr. entitled "Rockefeller's Jewish Ancestory!" (The misspelling of Ancestry was Darcy's.) He reference Stephen Birmingham's book The Grandees in which the author stated the Rockefellers, and other elite American families, were surprised to learn of their Sephardic ancestry. The fact is that as early as 1904 Silas Hubbard self publish from New York a book exposing John D. Rockefeller's various frauds citing his Sunday church-going/ Bible-carrying behavior and alternatively Monday through Friday criminality.
The introduction of the "Federal Reserve System" in 1913 enabled the Rothschild-Rockefeller banking axis to consolidate their American financial powers. Banking chiefs, who were largely supported by the Rothschilds, became the chairmen of the first Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
Following passage of "The Federal Reserve Act," Warburg led the U.S. Congress to fraudulently forward the 16th Amendment to the Constitution that granted Congress the power to levy personal income taxes on American citizens. The legislation was required since the United States government could no longer print money to finance its operations due to the controlling forces of the international banking cartel.
The Warburg family, admittedly Jewish, is said to have heavily financed Hitler's rise to power and I.G. Farben's operations along with the Rockefellers and others. In Sidney Warburg's Hitler's Secret Backers (CPA Book Publisher, 1933, reprinted 1983), prominent Nazi officer Franz von Papen credits the book for accurately detailing Hitler's financial backers wherein "all the bankers named are gentiles, not Jewish."
With No Apologies: The Personal and Political Memoirs of U.S. Senator Barry Goldwater, the obviously Jewish Senator expressed the insider's view that The Round Table's cover organization, the CFR, tightly controlled the American political scene with Rockefellers at the helm. "I believe the Council on Foreign Relations and its ancillary elitist groups [referring to the other "secret societies" such as the Skull & Bones] are indifferent to communism. They have no ideological anchors. In their pursuit of a New World Order they are prepared to deal without prejudice with a communist state, a socialist state, a democratic state, monarchy, oligarchy-it's all the same to them.
". . . Their rationale rests exclusively on materialism," Senator Goldwater added. "When a new president comes on board, there is a great turnover in personnel but no change in policy. For instance, as stated earlier, during the Nixon years Henry Kissinger, CFR member and Nelson Rockefeller's protégé, was in charge of foreign policy. When Jimmy Carter was elected, Kissinger was replaced with Zbigniew Brzezinski (NJ), CFR member and David Rockefeller's protégé.
Henry Kissinger, hailed as a hero by unwitting Jewish organizations, and recently exposed as a war criminal in Harper's magazine (Feb. and March, 2001), was excommunicated from the Jewish religion on June 20, 1976 during a religious ceremony presided over by five member Rabbis of the Supreme Rabbinic Court of America, partly for helping top Nazi war criminals to escape from Germany at the close of the war.
Thus, the Bible correctly counsels, "Beware of those that call themselves Jews who are not." In regard to the above, and the repugnant Free American article, readers are urged to "Beware of those that call non-Jews "Jews" in an effort to create inter-racial and inter-religious hatred." In the anonymous author's case, it might also be wise to "Beware of those that call themselves Christians who are not."
Concerning the repeated allegation that Hollywood, and the general media, is "controlled by Jews," Dr. Coleman more accurately detailed the Committee of 300's control over the American media by way of the CFR. He likewise recognized Zionism, and virtually all major religions, heavily infiltrated, if not completely controlled, by primarily British globalists.
America's mainstream magazine chief, for instance, Henry Luce (founder of Time, Life and many other periodicals), helped, along with the Rockfeller family to engineer the "National Purpose" for all Americans during the early 1950s. This included linking "guns, butter, and the new technology" for "weapons production to the cause of Freedom and the Free World." Henry Luce, according his biographer, W.A. Swanberg, was "the son of missionaries and one of America's leading Presbyterian laymen."
Moreover, intelligent persons would glean from the Halpern/Jacobovici documentary "Jews, Movies, Hollywoodism and the American Dream" more of the truth. Each of the movie studio founders were Jewish immigrants who toughly fought their way to the top of an industry controlled by the White Anglo- Saxon Protestant (WASP) elite who maintained support from bankers-the old money. The Jewish film financiers were unable to compete in New York where the Edison Corporation had monopolized the movie industry early by producing films that degraded Jews and Blacks as the stagnant underclasses. The Jewish moviemakers, thus, moved to Hollywood, California to circumvent this political snag. Here they found fertile soil, what America was supposed to provide, for their creative and imaginative productions. Increasingly successful with the development of films that consistently relayed the struggles of "little guys" against various establishments and odds-their own story reflected in many, if not most, of the Westerns and musicals they produced-they largely (some historians claim totally) created the fantasy culture in which we as Americans currently live.
Shortly before World War II, some of the Hollywood Jews began to speak out against fascism on American shores. They likely realized that old money, including the Rothschilds' and Rockefellers', had largely engineered Hitler' s rise to power, and that America too was threatened in the same way pre-Nazi Germany had fallen. Harry Warner, Warner Brothers Studio chief, for instance, gave an anti-fascist speech before the American Legion in which he clearly referred to the secret racist societies and apparently the Liberty Lobby's neo- Nazi "propaganda machine" in America. He urged:
"Drive them out. Make America unsafe for those who seek to tear down what others have built through the generations from 1776. Drive them from their secret meeting places. Destroy their insidious propaganda machines. Drive out their "[Skull &] Bones," and their leagues, the [Ku Klux] clans and the black legions, the silver shirts, the black shirts, and their dirty shirts. Help keep America for those who believe in America."
As a result of this perceived threat, Former Ambassador to Britain, Joseph P. Kennedy, met secretly in Los Angeles with officials representing the international bankers and shadow governors. He reportedly argued that Jews would be blamed if America entered the war, although there were other secret matters discussed. It is likely that Harry Warner's American Legion speech alarmed America's elite that they may be vulnerable to Hollywood exposés.
Hypersensitive to Jewish persecution, and their own continued immigrant status and insecurities, the movie moguls refused to produce any films heralding the Nazi threat prior to the Pearl Harbor attack and America's declared war with Germany. The two anti-Nazi films that were produced in Hollywood before that time came from non-Jews.
With the war, and the American government's urging, Hollywood went into full- scale production of propaganda films. Roosevelt had personally requested the moguls' produce Russian films depicting the communists as our friends. This was later used against the Hollywood filmmakers during the McCarthy era.
By World War II, the "Hollywood Jews" had worked to become totally secular with similar themes in their films reflecting mass integration, including intermarriages. Though the American military was racially segregated completely at that time, Hollywood movies depicted our armed forces as fully integrated.
The Jews in Hollywood had done such a superb job on behalf of the American war effort that following armistice the studio bosses received military awards. They were also escorted to Europe to tour the concentration camps courtesy of the U.S. Government. Historians remain perplexed as to why no films were produced depicting this genocidal horror. The consensus of critics hold that the "Hollywood Jews" were simply too afraid to project any pro-Jewish sentiments that might lift their thin veil as seculars and integrated Americans.
Following the war, Louis B. Meyer, MGM Studios chief, called for the creation of a "new human type," liberated from the fears and persecutions of racism in America. "We gather here today," He said, "not as Catholics, Protestants, or Jews. All of the ancient bloods have contributed to those who meet here today. This great country is itself the result of the unity of all of these ancient bloods. We are all here as Americans."
Soon after these words were spoken, the Hollywood Jews were called before the U.S. Congress's Hearings on Communism directed by the vicious and openly anti-Jewish John Rankin, who like The Free American article, blamed Jews for virtually every social woe. During the hearings, a number of persecuted movie executives stated the obvious-the shadow governors' efforts to regain control over the silver screen and American culture by wrestling it away from the Hollywood Jewish cartel. The media moguls folded precipitously beneath this political pressure. Then they helped facilitate what we recognize today was a virtual witch-hunt, a total ruse, given the international bankers' creation of communism and subsequent funding of its leaders.
In summary, there is nothing new under the sun, or in The Free American Jewish hate diatribe by Clay Douglas and an anonymous co-author. I, for one, would like to know the source of the article. Suspiciously, it appears perfectly timed and suited for a contemporary political agenda that insidiously includes resurrecting Jewish hate. Let the primary author reveal himself and his political/ financial affiliations. Does he maintain connections to the Liberty Lobby, publishers of The Spotlight? Is he affiliated with other groups that selectively relay half-truths to fully deceive well-meaning largely susceptible populations such as American patriots and Christians? Free American readers deserve to know the whole truth. Will Clay Douglas provide it, along with an apology? Time will tell.

The Jews of Iraq

The Link interviewed Naeim Giladi, a
Jew from Iraq, for three hours on March 16, 1998, two days prior to
his 69th birthday. For nearly two other delightful hours, we were
treated to a multi-course Arabic meal prepared by his wife Rachael,
who is also Iraqi. "It's our Arab culture," he said
proudly.
In our previous Link, Israeli
historian Ilan Pappe looked at the hundreds of thousands of
indigenous Palestinians whose lives were uprooted to make room for
foreigners who would come to populate confiscated land. Most were
Ashkenazi Jews from Eastern Europe. But over half a million other
Jews came from Islamic lands. Zionist propagandists claim that
Israel "rescued" these Jews from their anti-Jewish, Muslim
neighbors. One of those "rescued" Jews-Naeim Giladi-knows
otherwise.
In his book, Ben Gurion's Scandals:
How the Haganah & the Mossad Eliminated Jews, Giladi discusses
the crimes committed by Zionists in their frenzy to import raw
Jewish labor. Newly-vacated farmlands had to be plowed to provide
food for the immigrants and the military ranks had to be filled with
conscripts to defend the stolen lands. Mr. Giladi couldn't get his
book published in Israel, and even in the U.S. he discovered he
could do so only if he used his own money.
The Giladis, now U.S. citizens,
live in New York City. By choice, they no longer hold Israeli
citizenship. "I am Iraqi," he told us, "born in Iraq,
my culture still Iraqi Arabic, my religion Jewish, my citizenship
American."

I write this article for the same reason I wrote my
book: to tell the American people, and especially American Jews, that
Jews from Islamic lands did not emigrate willingly to Israel; that, to
force them to leave, Jews killed Jews; and that, to buy time to
confiscate ever more Arab lands, Jews on numerous occasions rejected
genuine peace initiatives from their Arab neighbors. I write about
what the first prime minister of Israel called "cruel
Zionism." I write about it because I was part of it.

My Story
Of course I thought I knew it all back then. I was young, idealistic, and
more than willing to put my life at risk for my convictions. It was 1947
and I wasn't quite 18 when the Iraqi authorities caught me for smuggling
young Iraqi Jews like myself out of Iraq, into Iran, and then on to the
Promised Land of the soon-to-be established Israel.
I was an Iraqi Jew in the Zionist underground. My Iraqi
jailers did everything they could to extract the names of my
co-conspirators. Fifty years later, pain still throbs in my right toe-a
reminder of the day my captors used pliers to remove my toenails. On
another occasion, they hauled me to the flat roof of the prison, stripped
me bare on a frigid January day, then threw a bucket of cold water over
me. I was left there, chained to the railing, for hours. But I never once
considered giving them the information they wanted. I was a true believer.
My preoccupation during what I refer to as my "two
years in hell" was with survival and escape. I had no interest then
in the broad sweep of Jewish history in Iraq even though my family had
been part of it right from the beginning. We were originally Haroons, a
large and important family of the "Babylonian Diaspora." My
ancestors had settled in Iraq more than 2,600 years ago-600 years before
Christianity, and 1,200 years before Islam. I am descended from Jews who
built the tomb of Yehezkel, a Jewish prophet of pre-biblical times. My
town, where I was born in 1929, is Hillah, not far from the ancient site
of Babylon.
The original Jews found Babylon, with its nourishing
Tigris and Euphrates rivers, to be truly a land of milk, honey,
abundance-and opportunity. Although Jews, like other minorities in what
became Iraq, experienced periods of oppression and discrimination
depending on the rulers of the period, their general trajectory over two
and one-half millennia was upward. Under the late Ottoman rule, for
example, Jewish social and religious institutions, schools, and medical
facilities flourished without outside interference, and Jews were
prominent in government and business.
As I sat there in my cell, unaware that a death
sentence soon would be handed down against me, I could not have recounted
any personal grievances that my family members would have lodged against
the government or the Muslim majority. Our family had been treated well
and had prospered, first as farmers with some 50,000 acres devoted to
rice, dates and Arab horses. Then, with the Ottomans, we bought and
purified gold that was shipped to Istanbul and turned into coinage. The
Turks were responsible in fact for changing our name to reflect our
occupation-we became Khalaschi, meaning "Makers of Pure."
I did not volunteer the information to my father that I
had joined the Zionist underground. He found out several months before I
was arrested when he saw me writing Hebrew and using words and expressions
unfamiliar to him. He was even more surprised to learn that, yes, I had
decided I would soon move to Israel myself. He was scornful. "You'll
come back with your tail between your legs," he predicted.
About 125,000 Jews left Iraq for Israel in the late
1940s and into 1952, most because they had been lied to and put into a
panic by what I came to learn were Zionist bombs. But my mother and father
were among the 6,000 who did not go to Israel. Although physically I never
did return to Iraq-that bridge had been burned in any event-my heart has
made the journey there many, many times. My father had it right.
I was imprisoned at the military camp of Abu-Greib,
about 7 miles from Baghdad. When the military court handed down my
sentence of death by hanging, I had nothing to lose by attempting the
escape I had been planning for many months.
It was a strange recipe for an escape: a dab of butter,
an orange peel, and some army clothing that I had asked a friend to buy
for me at a flea market. I deliberately ate as much bread as I could to
put on fat in anticipation of the day I became 18, when they could
formally charge me with a crime and attach the 50-pound ball and chain
that was standard prisoner issue.
Later, after my leg had been shackled, I went on a
starvation diet that often left me weak-kneed. The pat of butter was to
lubricate my leg in preparation for extricating it from the metal band.
The orange peel I surreptitiously stuck into the lock on the night of my
planned escape, having studied how it could be placed in such a way as to
keep the lock from closing.
As the jailers turned to go after locking up, I put on
the old army issue that was indistinguishable from what they were
wearing-a long, green coat and a stocking cap that I pulled down over much
of my face (it was winter). Then I just quietly opened the door and joined
the departing group of soldiers as they strode down the hall and outside,
and I offered a "good night" to the shift guard as I left. A
friend with a car was waiting to speed me away.
Later I made my way to the new state of Israel,
arriving in May, 1950. My passport had my name in Arabic and English, but
the English couldn't capture the "kh" sound, so it was rendered
simply as Klaski. At the border, the immigration people applied the
English version, which had an Eastern European, Ashkenazi ring to it. In
one way, this "mistake" was my key to discovering very soon just
how the Israeli caste system worked.
They asked me where I wanted to go and what I wanted to
do. I was the son of a farmer; I knew all the problems of the farm, so I
volunteered to go to Dafnah, a farming kibbutz in the high Galilee. I only
lasted a few weeks. The new immigrants were given the worst of everything.
The food was the same, but that was the only thing that everyone had in
common. For the immigrants, bad cigarettes, even bad toothpaste.
Everything. I left.
Then, through the Jewish Agency, I was advised to go to al-Majdal (later
renamed Ashkelon), an Arab town about 9 miles from Gaza, very close to the
Mediterranean. The Israeli government planned to turn it into a farmers'
city, so my farm background would be an asset there.
When I reported to the Labor Office in al-Majdal, they
saw that I could read and write Arabic and Hebrew and they said that I
could find a good-paying job with the Military Governor's office. The
Arabs were under the authority of these Israeli Military Governors. A
clerk handed me a bunch of forms in Arabic and Hebrew. Now it dawned on
me. Before Israel could establish its farmers' city, it had to rid
al-Majdal of its indigenous Palestinians. The forms were petitions to the
United Nations Inspectors asking for transfer out of Israel to Gaza, which
was under Egyptian control.
I read over the petition. In signing, the Palestinian
would be saying that he was of sound mind and body and was making the
request for transfer free of pressure or duress. Of course, there was no
way that they would leave without being pressured to do so. These families
had been there hundreds of years, as farmers, primitive artisans, weavers.
The Military Governor prohibited them from pursuing their livelihoods,
just penned them up until they lost hope of resuming their normal lives.
That's when they signed to leave.
I was there and heard their grief. "Our hearts are
in pain when we look at the orange trees that we planted with our own
hands. Please let us go, let us give water to those trees. God will not be
pleased with us if we leave His trees untended." I asked the Military
Governor to give them relief, but he said, "No, we want them to
leave."
I could no longer be part of this oppression and I
left. Those Palestinians who didn't sign up for transfers were taken by
force-just put in trucks and dumped in Gaza. About four thousand people
were driven from al-Majdal in one way or another. The few who remained
were collaborators with the Israeli authorities.
Subsequently, I wrote letters trying to get a
government job elsewhere and I got many immediate responses asking me to
come for an interview. Then they would discover that my face didn't match
my Polish/Ashkenazi name. They would ask if I spoke Yiddish or Polish, and
when I said I didn't, they would ask where I came by a Polish name.
Desperate for a good job, I would usually say that I thought my
great-grandfather was from Poland. I was advised time and again that
"we'll give you a call."
Eventually, three to four years after coming to Israel,
I changed my name to Giladi, which is close to the code name, Gilad, that
I had in the Zionist underground. Klaski wasn't doing me any good anyway,
and my Eastern friends were always chiding me about the name they knew
didn't go with my origins as an Iraqi Jew.
I was disillusioned at what I found in the Promised Land, disillusioned
personally, disillusioned at the institutionalized racism, disillusioned
at what I was beginning to learn about Zionism's cruelties. The principal
interest Israel had in Jews from Islamic countries was as a supply of
cheap labor, especially for the farm work that was beneath the urbanized
Eastern European Jews. Ben Gurion needed the "Oriental" Jews to
farm the thousands of acres of land left by Palestinians who were driven
out by Israeli forces in 1948.
And I began to find out about the barbaric methods used
to rid the fledgling state of as many Palestinians as possible. The world
recoils today at the thought of bacteriological warfare, but Israel was
probably the first to actually use it in the Middle East. In the 1948 war,
Jewish forces would empty Arab villages of their populations, often by
threats, sometimes by just gunning down a half-dozen unarmed Arabs as
examples to the rest. To make sure the Arabs couldn't return to make a
fresh life for themselves in these villages, the Israelis put typhus and
dysentery bacteria into the water wells.
Uri Mileshtin, an official historian for the Israeli
Defense Force, has written and spoken about the use of bacteriological
agents. According to Mileshtin, Moshe Dayan, a division commander at the
time, gave orders in 1948 to remove Arabs from their villages, bulldoze
their homes, and render water wells unusable with typhus and dysentery
bacteria.
Acre was so situated that it could practically defend
itself with one big gun, so the Haganah put bacteria into the spring that
fed the town. The spring was called Capri and it ran from the north near a
kibbutz. The Haganah put typhus bacteria into the water going to Acre, the
people got sick, and the Jewish forces occupied Acre. This worked so well
that they sent a Haganah division dressed as Arabs into Gaza, where there
were Egyptian forces, and the Egyptians caught them putting two cans of
bacteria, typhus and dysentery, into the water supply in wanton disregard
of the civilian population. "In war, there is no sentiment," one
of the captured Haganah men was quoted as saying.
My activism in Israel began shortly after I received a
letter from the Socialist/Zionist Party asking me to help with their
Arabic newspaper. When I showed up at their offices at Central House in
Tel Aviv, I asked around to see just where I should report. I showed the
letter to a couple of people there and, without even looking at it, they
would motion me away with the words, "Room No. 8." When I saw
that they weren't even reading the letter, I inquired of several others.
But the response was the same, "Room No. 8," with not a glance
at the paper I put in front of them.
So I went to Room 8 and saw that it was the Department
of Jews from Islamic Countries. I was disgusted and angry. Either I am a
member of the party or I'm not. Do I have a different ideology or
different politics because I am an Arab Jew? It's segregation, I thought,
just like a Negroes' Department. I turned around and walked out. That was
the start of my open protests. That same year I organized a demonstration
in Ashkelon against Ben Gurion's racist policies and 10,000 people turned
out.
There wasn't much opportunity for those of us who were
second class citizens to do much about it when Israel was on a war footing
with outside enemies. After the 1967 war, I was in the Army myself and
served in the Sinai when there was continued fighting along the Suez
Canal. But the cease-fire with Egypt in 1970 gave us our opening. We took
to the streets and organized politically to demand equal rights. If it's
our country, if we were expected to risk our lives in a border war, then
we expected equal treatment.
We mounted the struggle so tenaciously and received so
much publicity that the Israeli government tried to discredit our movement
by calling us "Israel's Black Panthers." They were thinking in
racist terms, really, in assuming the Israeli public would reject an
organization whose ideology was being compared to that of radical blacks
in the United States. But we saw that what we were doing was no different
than what blacks in the United States were fighting against-segregation,
discrimination, unequal treatment. Rather than reject the label, we
adopted it proudly. I had posters of Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Nelson
Mandela and other civil rights activists plastered all over my office.
With the Israeli invasion of Lebanon and the
Israeli-condoned Sabra and Shatilla massacres, I had had enough of Israel.
I became a United States citizen and made certain to revoke my Israeli
citizenship. I could never have written and published my book in Israel,
not with the censorship they would impose.
Even in America, I had great difficulty finding a
publisher because many are subject to pressures of one kind or another
from Israel and its friends. I ended up paying $60,000 from my own pocket
to publish Ben Gurion's Scandals: How the Haganah & the Mossad
Eliminated Jews, virtually the entire proceeds from having sold my house
in Israel.
I still was afraid that the printer would back out or
that legal proceedings would be initiated to stop its publication, like
the Israeli government did in an attempt to prevent former Mossad case
officer Victor Ostrovsky from publishing his first book. Ben Gurion's
Scandals had to be translated into English from two languages. I wrote in
Hebrew when I was in Israel and hoped to publish the book there, and I
wrote in Arabic when I was completing the book after coming to the U.S.
But I was so worried that something would stop publication that I told the
printer not to wait for the translations to be thoroughly checked and
proofread. Now I realize that the publicity of a lawsuit would just have
created a controversial interest in the book.
I am using bank vault storage for the valuable
documents that back up what I have written. These documents, including
some that I illegally copied from the archives at Yad Vashem, confirm what
I saw myself, what I was told by other witnesses, and what reputable
historians and others have written concerning the Zionist bombings in
Iraq, Arab peace overtures that were rebuffed, and incidents of violence
and death inflicted by Jews on Jews in the cause of creating Israel.
The Riots of 1941
If, as I have said, my family in Iraq was not persecuted personally and I
knew no deprivation as a member of the Jewish minority, what led me to the
steps of the gallows as a member of the Zionist underground? To answer
that question, it is necessary to establish the context of the massacre
that occurred in Baghdad on June 1, 1941, when several hundred Iraqi Jews
were killed in riots involving junior officers of the Iraqi army. I was 12
years of age and many of those killed were my friends. I was angry, and
very confused.
What I didn't know at the time was that the riots most
likely were stirred up by the British, in collusion with a pro-British
Iraqi leadership.
With the breakup of the Ottoman Empire following WW I,
Iraq came under British "tutelage." Amir Faisal, son of Sharif
Hussein who had led the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman sultan, was
brought in from Mecca by the British to become King of Iraq in 1921. Many
Jews were appointed to key administrative posts, including that of
economics minister. Britain retained final authority over domestic and
external affairs. Britain's pro-Zionist attitude in Palestine, however,
triggered a growing anti-Zionist backlash in Iraq, as it did in all Arab
countries. Writing at the end of 1934, Sir Francis Humphreys, Britain's
Ambassador in Baghdad, noted that, while before WW I Iraqi Jews had
enjoyed a more favorable position than any other minority in the country,
since then "Zionism has sown dissension between Jews and Arabs, and a
bitterness has grown up between the two peoples which did not previously
exist."
King Faisal died in 1933. He was succeeded by his son
Ghazi, who died in a motor car accident in 1939. The crown then passed to
Ghazi's 4-year-old son, Faisal II, whose uncle, Abd al-Ilah, was named
regent. Abd al-Ilah selected Nouri el-Said as prime minister. El-Said
supported the British and, as hatred of the British grew, he was forced
from office in March 1940 by four senior army officers who advocated
Iraq's independence from Britain. Calling themselves the Golden Square,
the officers compelled the regent to name as prime minister Rashid Ali
al-Kilani, leader of the National Brotherhood party.
The time was 1940 and Britain was reeling from a strong
German offensive. Al-Kilani and the Golden Square saw this as their
opportunity to rid themselves of the British once and for all. Cautiously
they began to negotiate for German support, which led the pro-British
regent Abd al-Ilah to dismiss al-Kilani in January 1941. By April,
however, the Golden Square officers had reinstated the prime minister.
This provoked the British to send a military force into
Basra on April 12, 1941. Basra, Iraq's second largest city, had a Jewish
population of 30,000. Most of these Jews made their livings from
import/export, money changing, retailing, as workers in the airports,
railways, and ports, or as senior government employees.
On the same day, April 12, supporters of the
pro-British regent notified the Jewish leaders that the regent wanted to
meet with them. As was their custom, the leaders brought flowers for the
regent. Contrary to custom, however, the cars that drove them to the
meeting place dropped them off at the site where the British soldiers were
concentrated.
Photographs of the Jews appeared in the following day's
newspapers with the banner "Basra Jews Receive British Troops with
Flowers." That same day, April 13, groups of angry Arab youths set
about to take revenge against the Jews. Several Muslim notables in Basra
heard of the plan and calmed things down. Later, it was learned that the
regent was not in Basra at all and that the matter was a provocation by
his pro-British supporters to bring about an ethnic war in order to give
the British army a pretext to intervene.
The British continued to land more forces in and around
Basra. On May 7, 1941, their Gurkha unit, composed of Indian soldiers from
that ethnic group, occupied Basra's el-Oshar quarter, a neighborhood with
a large Jewish population. The soldiers, led by British officers, began
looting. Many shops in the commercial district were plundered. Private
homes were broken into. Cases of attempted rape were reported. Local
residents, Jews and Muslims, responded with pistols and old rifles, but
their bullets were no match for the soldiers' Tommy Guns.
Afterwards, it was learned that the soldiers acted with
the acquiescence, if not the blessing, of their British commanders. (It
should be remembered that the Indian soldiers, especially those of the
Gurkha unit, were known for their discipline, and it is highly unlikely
they would have acted so riotously without orders.) The British goal
clearly was to create chaos and to blacken the image of the
pro-nationalist regime in Baghdad, thereby giving the British forces
reason to proceed to the capital and to overthrow the al-Kilani
government.
Baghdad fell on May 30. Al-Kilani fled to Iran, along
with the Golden Square officers. Radio stations run by the British
reported that Regent Abd al-Ilah would be returning to the city and that
thousands of Jews and others were planning to welcome him. What inflamed
young Iraqis against the Jews most, however, was the radio announcer Yunas
Bahri on the German station "Berlin," who reported in Arabic
that Jews from Palestine were fighting alongside the British against Iraqi
soldiers near the city of Faluja. The report was false.
On Sunday, June 1, unarmed fighting broke out in
Baghdad between Jews who were still celebrating their Shabuoth holiday and
young Iraqis who thought the Jews were celebrating the return of the
pro-British regent. That evening, a group of Iraqis stopped a bus, removed
the Jewish passengers, murdered one and fatally wounded a second.
About 8:30 the following morning, some 30 individuals
in military and police uniforms opened fire along el-Amin street, a small
downtown street whose jewelry, tailor and grocery shops were Jewish-owned.
By 11 a.m., mobs of Iraqis with knives, switchblades and clubs were
attacking Jewish homes in the area.
The riots continued throughout Monday, June 2. During
this time, many Muslims rose to defend their Jewish neighbors, while some
Jews successfully defended themselves. There were 124 killed and 400
injured, according to a report written by a Jewish Agency messenger who
was in Iraq at the time. Other estimates, possibly less reliable, put the
death toll higher, as many as 500, with from 650 to 2,000 injured. From
500 to 1,300 stores and more than 1,000 homes and apartments were looted.
Who was behind the rioting in the Jewish quarter?
Yosef
Meir, one of the most prominent activists in the Zionist underground
movement in Iraq, known then as Yehoshafat, claims it was the British.
Meir, who now works for the Israeli Defense Ministry, argues that, in
order to make it appear that the regent was returning as the savior who
would reestablish law and order, the British stirred up the riots against
the most vulnerable and visible segment in the city, the Jews. And, not
surprisingly, the riots ended as soon as the regent's loyal soldiers
entered the capital.
My own investigations as a journalist lead me to
believe Meir is correct. Furthermore, I think his claims should be seen as
based on documents in the archives of the Israeli Defense Ministry, the
agency that published his book. Yet, even before his book came out, I had
independent confirmation from a man I met in Iran in the late Forties.
His name was Michael Timosian, an Iraqi Armenian. When
I met him he was working as a male nurse at the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company
in Abadan in the south of Iran. On June 2, 1941, however, he was working
at the Baghdad hospital where many of the riot victims were brought. Most
of these victims were Jews.
Timosian said he was particularly interested in two
patients whose conduct did not follow local custom. One had been hit by a
bullet in his shoulder, the other by a bullet in his right knee. After the
doctor removed the bullets, the staff tried to change their blood-soaked
cloths. But the two men fought off their efforts, pretending to be
speechless, although tests showed they could hear. To pacify them, the
doctor injected them with anesthetics and, as they were sleeping, Timosian
changed their cloths. He discovered that one of them had around his neck
an identification tag of the type used by British troops, while the other
had tattoos with Indian script on his right arm along with the familiar
sword of the Gurkha.
The next day when Timosian showed up for work, he was
told that a British officer, his sergeant and two Indian Gurkha soldiers
had come to the hospital early that morning. Staff members overheard the
Gurkha soldiers talking with the wounded patients, who were not as dumb as
they had pretended. The patients saluted the visitors, covered themselves
with sheets and, without signing the required release forms, left the
hospital with their visitors.
Today there is no doubt in my mind that the anti-Jewish
riots of 1941 were orchestrated by the British for geopolitical ends.
David Kimche is certainly a man who was in a position to know the truth,
and he has spoken publicly about British culpability. Kimche had been with
British Intelligence during WW II and with the Mossad after the war. Later
he became Director General of Israel's Foreign Ministry, the position he
held in 1982 when he addressed a forum at the British Institute for
International Affairs in London.
In responding to hostile questions about Israel's
invasion of Lebanon and the refugee camp massacres in Beirut, Kimche went
on the attack, reminding the audience that there was scant concern in the
British Foreign Office when British Gurkha units participated in the
murder of 500 Jews in the streets of Baghdad in 1941.
The Bombings of 1950-1951
The anti-Jewish riots of 1941 did more than create a
pretext for the British to enter Baghdad to reinstate the pro-British
regent and his pro-British prime minister, Nouri el-Said. They also gave
the Zionists in Palestine a pretext to set up a Zionist underground in
Iraq, first in Baghdad, then in other cities such as Basra, Amara, Hillah,
Diwaneia, Abril and Karkouk.
Following WW II, a succession of governments held brief
power in Iraq. Zionist conquests in Palestine, particularly the massacre
of Palestinians in the village of Deir Yassin, emboldened the anti-British
movement in Iraq. When the Iraqi government signed a new treaty of
friendship with London in January 1948, riots broke out all over the
country. The treaty was quickly abandoned and Baghdad demanded removal of
the British military mission that had run Iraq's army for 27 years.
Later in 1948, Baghdad sent an army detachment to
Palestine to fight the Zionists, and when Israel declared independence in
May, Iraq closed the pipeline that fed its oil to Haifa's refinery. Abd
al-Ilah, however, was still regent and the British quisling, Nouri
el-Said, was back as prime minister. I was in the Abu-Greib prison in
1948, where I would remain until my escape to Iran in September 1949.
Six months later-the exact date was March 19, 1950-a
bomb went off at the American Cultural Center and Library in Baghdad,
causing property damage and injuring a number of people. The center was a
favorite meeting place for young Jews.
The first bomb thrown directly at Jews occurred on
April 8, 1950, at 9:15 p.m. A car with three young passengers hurled the
grenade at Baghdad's El-Dar El-Bida Café, where Jews were celebrating
Passover. Four people were seriously injured. That night leaflets were
distributed calling on Jews to leave Iraq immediately.
The next day, many Jews, most of them poor with nothing
to lose, jammed emigration offices to renounce their citizenship and to
apply for permission to leave for Israel. So many applied, in fact, that
the police had to open registration offices in Jewish schools and
synagogues.
On May 10, at 3 a.m., a grenade was tossed in the
direction of the display window of the Jewish-owned Beit-Lawi Automobile
Company, destroying part of the building. No casualties were reported.
On June 3, 1950, another grenade was tossed from a
speeding car in the El-Batawin area of Baghdad where most rich Jews and
middle class Iraqis lived. No one was hurt, but following the explosion
Zionist activists sent telegrams to Israel requesting that the quota for
immigration from Iraq be increased.
On June 5, at 2:30 a.m., a bomb exploded next to the
Jewish-owned Stanley Shashua building on El-Rashid street, resulting in
property damage but no casualties.
On January 14, 1951, at 7 p.m., a grenade was thrown at
a group of Jews outside the Masouda Shem-Tov Synagogue. The explosive
struck a high-voltage cable, electrocuting three Jews, one a young boy,
Itzhak Elmacher, and wounding over 30 others. Following the attack, the
exodus of Jews jumped to between 600-700 per day.
Zionist propagandists still maintain that the bombs in
Iraq were set off by anti-Jewish Iraqis who wanted Jews out of their
country. The terrible truth is that the grenades that killed and maimed
Iraqi Jews and damaged their property were thrown by Zionist Jews.
Among the most important documents in my book, I
believe, are copies of two leaflets published by the Zionist underground
calling on Jews to leave Iraq. One is dated March 16, 1950, the other
April 8, 1950.
The difference between these two is critical. Both
indicate the date of publication, but only the April 8th leaflet notes the
time of day: 4 p.m. Why the time of day? Such a specification was
unprecedented. Even the investigating judge, Salaman El-Beit, found it
suspicious. Did the 4 p.m. writers want an alibi for a bombing they knew
would occur five hours later? If so, how did they know about the bombing?
The judge concluded they knew because a connection existed between the
Zionist underground and the bomb throwers.
This, too, was the conclusion of Wilbur Crane Eveland,
a former senior officer in the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), whom I
had the opportunity to meet in New York in 1988. In his book, Ropes of
Sand, whose publication the CIA opposed, Eveland writes:
In attempts to portray the Iraqis as anti-American and
to terrorize the Jews, the Zionists planted bombs in the U.S. Information
Service library and in synagogues. Soon leaflets began to appear urging
Jews to flee to Israel. . . . Although the Iraqi police later provided our
embassy with evidence to show that the synagogue and library bombings, as
well as the anti-Jewish and anti-American leaflet campaigns, had been the
work of an underground Zionist organization, most of the world believed
reports that Arab terrorism had motivated the flight of the Iraqi Jews
whom the Zionists had "rescued" really just in order to increase
Israel's Jewish population."
Eveland doesn't detail the evidence linking the
Zionists to the attacks, but in my book I do. In 1955, for example, I
organized in Israel a panel of Jewish attorneys of Iraqi origin to handle
claims of Iraqi Jews who still had property in Iraq. One well known
attorney, who asked that I not give his name, confided in me that the
laboratory tests in Iraq had confirmed that the anti-American leaflets
found at the American Cultural Center bombing were typed on the same
typewriter and duplicated on the same stenciling machine as the leaflets
distributed by the Zionist movement just before the April 8th bombing.
Tests also showed that the type of explosive used in
the Beit-Lawi attack matched traces of explosives found in the suitcase of
an Iraqi Jew by the name of Yosef Basri. Basri, a lawyer, together with
Shalom Salih, a shoemaker, would be put on trial for the attacks in
December 1951 and executed the following month. Both men were members of
Hashura, the military arm of the Zionist underground. Salih ultimately
confessed that he, Basri and a third man, Yosef Habaza, carried out the
attacks.
By the time of the executions in January 1952, all but
6,000 of an estimated 125,000 Iraqi Jews had fled to Israel. Moreover, the
pro-British, pro-Zionist puppet el-Said saw to it that all of their
possessions were frozen, including their cash assets. (There were ways of
getting Iraqi dinars out, but when the immigrants went to exchange them in
Israel they found that the Israeli government kept 50 percent of the
value.) Even those Iraqi Jews who had not registered to emigrate, but who
happened to be abroad, faced loss of their nationality if they didn't
return within a specified time. An ancient, cultured, prosperous community
had been uprooted and its people transplanted to a land dominated by East
European Jews, whose culture was not only foreign but entirely hateful to
them.
The Ultimate Criminals
Zionist Leaders.
From the start they knew that
in order to establish a Jewish state they had to expel the indigenous
Palestinian population to the neighboring Islamic states and import Jews
from these same states.

Theodor Herzl, the architect of Zionism, thought it
could be done by social engineering. In his diary entry for 12 June 1885,
he wrote that Zionist settlers would have to "spirit the penniless
population across the border by procuring employment for it in the transit
countries, while denying it any employment in our own country."
* Vladimir Jabotinsky, Prime Minister Netanyahu's ideological progenitor,
frankly admitted that such a transfer of populations could only be brought
about by force.

David Ben Gurion, Israel's first prime minister, told a
Zionist Conference in 1937 that any proposed Jewish state would have to
"transfer Arab populations out of the area, if possible of their own
free will, if not by coercion." After 750,000 Palestinians were
uprooted and their lands confiscated in 1948-49, Ben Gurion had to look to
the Islamic countries for Jews who could fill the resultant cheap labor
market. "Emissaries" were smuggled into these countries to
"convince" Jews to leave either by trickery or fear.
In the case of Iraq, both methods were used: uneducated
Jews were told of a Messianic Israel in which the blind see, the lame
walk, and onions grow as big as melons; educated Jews had bombs thrown at
them.
A few years after the bombings, in the early 1950s, a
book was published in Iraq, in Arabic, titled Venom of the Zionist Viper.
The author was one of the Iraqi investigators of the 1950-51 bombings and,
in his book, he implicates the Israelis, specifically one of the
emissaries sent by Israel, Mordechai Ben-Porat. As soon as the book came
out, all copies just disappeared, even from libraries. The word was that
agents of the Israeli Mossad, working through the U.S. Embassy, bought up
all the books and destroyed them. I tried on three different occasions to
have one sent to me in Israel, but each time Israeli censors in the post
office intercepted it.
British Leaders.
Britain always acted in its best colonial interests. For
that reason Foreign Minister Arthur Balfour sent his famous 1917 letter to
Lord Rothschild in exchange for Zionist support in WW I. During WW II the
British were primarily concerned with keeping their client states in the
Western camp, while Zionists were most concerned with the immigration of
European Jews to Palestine, even if this meant cooperating with the Nazis.
(In my book I document numerous instances of such dealings by Ben Gurion
and the Zionist leadership.)
After WW II the international chessboard pitted
communists against capitalists. In many countries, including the United
States and Iraq, Jews represented a large part of the Communist party. In
Iraq, hundreds of Jews of the working intelligentsia occupied key
positions in the hierarchy of the Communist and Socialist parties. To keep
their client countries in the capitalist camp, Britain had to make sure
these governments had pro-British leaders. And if, as in Iraq, these
leaders were overthrown, then an anti-Jewish riot or two could prove a
useful pretext to invade the capital and reinstate the "right"
leaders.
Moreover, if the possibility existed of removing the
communist influence from Iraq by transferring the whole Jewish community
to Israel, well then, why not? Particularly if the leaders of Israel and
Iraq conspired in the deed.
The Iraqi Leaders.
Both the regent Abd al-Ilah
and his prime minister Nouri el- Said took directions from London. Toward
the end of 1948, el-Said, who had already met with Israel's Prime Minister
Ben Gurion in Vienna, began discussing with his Iraqi and British
associates the need for an exchange of populations. Iraq would send the
Jews in military trucks to Israel via Jordan, and Iraq would take in some
of the Palestinians Israel had been evicting. His proposal included mutual
confiscation of property. London nixed the idea as too radical.
El-Said then went to his back-up plan and began to create the conditions
that would make the lives of Iraqi Jews so miserable they would leave for
Israel. Jewish government employees were fired from their jobs; Jewish
merchants were denied import/export licenses; police began to arrest Jews
for trivial reasons. Still the Jews did not leave in any great numbers.
In September 1949, Israel sent the spy Mordechai
Ben-Porat, the one mentioned in Venom of the Zionist Viper, to Iraq. One
of the first things Ben-Porat did was to approach el-Said and promise him
financial incentives to have a law enacted that would lift the citizenship
of Iraqi Jews.
Soon after, Zionist and Iraqi representatives began
formulating a rough draft of the bill, according to the model dictated by
Israel through its agents in Baghdad. The bill was passed by the Iraqi
parliament in March 1950. It empowered the government to issue one-time
exit visas to Jews wishing to leave the country. In March, the bombings
began.
Sixteen years later, the Israeli magazine Haolam Hazeh,
published by Uri Avnery, then a Knesset member, accused Ben-Porat of the
Baghdad bombings. Ben-Porat, who would become a Knesset member himself,
denied the charge, but never sued the magazine for libel. And Iraqi Jews
in Israel still call him Morad Abu al-Knabel, Mordechai of the Bombs.
As I said, all this went well beyond the comprehension
of a teenager. I knew Jews were being killed and an organization existed
that could lead us to the Promised Land. So I helped in the exodus to
Israel. Later, on occasions, I would bump into some of these Iraqi Jews in
Israel. Not infrequently they'd express the sentiment that they could kill
me for what I had done.
Opportunities for Peace
After the Israeli attack on the Jordanian village of
Qibya in October, 1953, Ben Gurion went into voluntary exile at the Sedeh
Boker kibbutz in the Negev. The Labor party then used to organize many
buses for people to go visit him there, where they would see the former
prime minister working with sheep. But that was only for show. Really he
was writing his diary and continuing to be active behind the scenes. I
went on such a tour.
We were told not to try to speak to Ben Gurion, but
when I saw him, I asked why, since Israel is a democracy with a
parliament, does it not have a constitution? Ben Gurion said, "Look,
boy"-I was 24 at the time-"if we have a constitution, we have to
write in it the border of our country. And this is not our border, my
dear." I asked, "Then where is the border?" He said,
"Wherever the Sahal will come, this is the border." Sahal is the
Israeli army.
Ben Gurion told the world that Israel accepted the
partition and the Arabs rejected it. Then Israel took half of the land
that was promised to the Arab state. And still he was saying it was not
enough. Israel needed more land. How can a country make peace with its
neighbors if it wants to take their land? How can a country demand to be
secure if it won't say what borders it will be satisfied with? For such a
country, peace would be an inconvenience.
I know now that from the beginning many Arab leaders
wanted to make peace with Israel, but Israel always refused. Ben Gurion
covered this up with propaganda. He said that the Arabs wanted to drive
Israel into the sea and he called Gamal Abdel Nasser the Hitler of the
Middle East whose foremost intent was to destroy Israel. He wanted America
and Great Britain to treat Nasser like a pariah.
In 1954, it seemed that America was getting less
critical of Nasser. Then during a three-week period in July, several
terrorist bombs were set off: at the United States Information Agency
offices in Cairo and Alexandria, a British-owned theater, and the central
post office in Cairo. An attempt to firebomb a cinema in Alexandria failed
when the bomb went off in the pocket of one of the perpetrators. That led
to the discovery that the terrorists were not anti-Western Egyptians, but
were instead Israeli spies bent on souring the warming relationship
between Egypt and the United States in what came to be known as the Lavon
Affair.
Ben Gurion was still living on his kibbutz. Moshe
Sharett as prime minister was in contact with Abdel Nasser through the
offices of Lord Maurice Orbach of Great Britain. Sharett asked Nasser to
be lenient with the captured spies, and Nasser did all that was in his
power to prevent a deterioration of the situation between the two
countries.
Then Ben Gurion returned as Defense Minister in
February, 1955. Later that month Israeli troops attacked Egyptian military
camps and Palestinian refugees in Gaza, killing 54 and injuring many more.
The very night of the attack, Lord Orbach was on his way to deliver a
message to Nasser, but was unable to get through because of the military
action. When Orbach telephoned, Nasser's secretary told him that the
attack proved that Israel did not want peace and that he was wasting his
time as a mediator.
In November, Ben Gurion announced in the Knesset that
he was willing to meet with Abdel Nasser anywhere and at any time for the
sake of peace and understanding. The next morning the Israeli military
attacked an Egyptian military camp in the Sabaha region.
Although Nasser felt pessimistic about achieving peace
with Israel, he continued to send other mediators to try. One was through
the American Friends Service Committee; another via the Prime Minister of
Malta, Dom Minthoff; and still another through Marshall Tito of
Yugoslavia.
One that looked particularly promising was through
Dennis Hamilton, editor of The London Times. Nasser told Hamilton that if
only he could sit and talk with Ben Gurion for two or three hours, they
would be able to settle the conflict and end the state of war between the
two countries. When word of this reached Ben Gurion, he arranged to meet
with Hamilton. They decided to pursue the matter with the Israeli
ambassador in London, Arthur Luria, as liaison. On Hamilton's third trip
to Egypt, Nasser met him with the text of a Ben Gurion speech stating that
Israel would not give up an inch of land and would not take back a single
refugee. Hamilton knew that Ben Gurion with his mouth had undermined a
peace mission and missed an opportunity to settle the Israeli-Arab
conflict.
Nasser even sent his friend Ibrahim Izat of the Ruz El
Yusuf weekly paper to meet with Israeli leaders in order to explore the
political atmosphere and find out why the attacks were taking place if
Israel really wanted peace. One of the men Izat met with was Yigal Yadin,
a former Chief of Staff of the army who wrote this letter to me on 14
January 1982:
Dear Mr. Giladi:
Your letter reminded me of an event which I nearly
forgot and of which I remember only a few details.
Ibrahim Izat came to me if I am not mistaken under
the request of the Foreign Ministry or one of its branches; he stayed in
my house and we spoke for many hours. I do not remember him saying that
he came on a mission from Nasser, but I have no doubt that he let it be
understood that this was with his knowledge or acquiescence....
When Nasser decided to nationalize the Suez Canal in
spite of opposition from the British and the French, Radio Cairo announced
in Hebrew:
If the Israeli government is not influenced by the
British and the French imperialists, it will eventually result in greater
understanding between the two states, and Egypt will reconsider Israel's

Fundamental Features of the Proposal of the National
Military Organization in Palestine (Irgun Zvai Leumi)
Concerning
the Solution of the Jewish
Question
in Europe and
the Participation of the
NMO in the War
on the Side of Germany
(1941)

It is often stated in the speeches and utterances of the leading
statesmen of National Socialist Germany that a prerequisite of the New Order in
Europe requires the radical solution of the Jewish question through evacuation
(“Jew-free Europe”).
The evacuation of the Jewish masses from Europe is a precondition for solving
the Jewish question; but this can only be made possible and complete through the
settlement of these masses in the home of the Jewish people, Palestine, and
through the establishment of a Jewish state in its historic boundaries.
The solving in this manner of the Jewish problem, thus bringing with it once
and for all the liberation of the Jewish people, is the objective of the
political activity and the years-long struggle of the Israeli freedom movement,
the National Military Organization (Irgun Zvai Leumi) in Palestine.
The NMO, which is well-acquainted with the goodwill of the German Reich
government and its authorities towards Zionist activity inside Germany and
towards Zionist emigration plans, is of the opinion that:
- Common interests could exist between the establishment of a new order in
Europe in conformity with the German concept, and the true national
aspirations of the Jewish people as they are embodied by the NMO.
- Cooperation between the new Germany and a renewed folkish-national
Hebraium would be possible and,
- The establishment of the historic Jewish state on a national and
totalitarian basis, bound by a treaty with the German Reich, would be in the
interest of a maintained and strengthened future German position of power in
the Near East.
Proceeding from these considerations, the NMO in Palestine, under
the condition the above-mentioned national aspirations of the Israeli freedom
movement are recognized on the side of the German Reich, offers to actively lake
part in the war on Germany’s side.
This offer by the NMO, covering activity in the military, political and
information fields, in Palestine and, according to our determined preparations,
outside Palestine, would be connected to the military training and organizing of
Jewish manpower in Europe, under the leadership and command of the NMO. These
military units would take part in the fight to conquer Palestine, should such a
front be decided upon.
The indirect participation of the Israeli freedom movement in the New Order
in Europe, already in the preparatory stage, would be linked with a
positive-radical solution of the European Jewish problem in conformity with the
above-mentioned national aspirations of the Jewish people. This would
extraordinarily strengthen the moral basis of the New Order in the eyes of all
humanity.
The cooperation of the Israeli freedom movement would also be along the lines
of one of the last speeches of the German Reich Chancellor, in which Herr Hitler
emphasized that he would utilize every combination and coalition in order to
isolate and defeat England.
A brief general view of the formation, essence, and activity of the NMO in
Palestine:
The NMO developed partly out of the Jewish self-defense in Palestine and the
Revisionist movement (New Zionist Organization), with which the NMO was loosely
connected through the person of Mr. V. Jabotinsky until his death.
The pro-English attitude of the Revisionist Organization in Palestine, which
prevented the renewal of the personal union, led in the autumn of this year to a
complete break between it and the NMO as well as to a thereupon following split
in the Revisionist movement.
The goal of the NMO is the establishment of the Jewish state within its
historic borders.
The NMO, in contrast to all Zionist trends, rejects colonizatory infiltration
as the only means of making accessible and gradually taking possession of the
fatherland and practices its slogan, the struggle and the sacrifice, as the only
true means for the conquest and liberation of Palestine.
On account of its militant character and its anti-English disposition the NMO
is forced, under constant persecutions by the English administration, to
exercise its political activity and the military training of its members in
Palestine in secret.
The NMO, whose terrorist activities began as early as the autumn of the year
1936, became, after the publication of the British White Papers, especially
prominent in the summer of 1939 through successful intensification of its
terroristic activity and sabotage of English properly. At that lime these
activities, as well as daily secret radio broadcasts, were noticed and discussed
by virtually the entire world press.
The NMO maintained independent political offices in Warsaw, Paris. London and
New York until the beginning of the war.
The office in Warsaw was mainly concerned with the military organization and
training of the national Zionist youth and was closely connected with the Jewish
masseswho, especially in Poland, sustained and enthusiastically supported, in
every manner, the fight of the NMO in Palestine. Two newspapers were published
in Warsaw (The Deed and Liberated Jerusalem): these were organs of
the NMO.
The office in Warsaw maintained close relations with the former Polish
government and those military circles, who brought greatest sympathy and
understanding towards the aims of the NMO. Thus, in the year 1939 selected
groups of NMO members were sent from Palestine to Poland, where their military
training was completed in barracks by Polish officers.
The negotiations, for the purpose of activating and concertizing their aid,
took place between the NMO and the Polish government in Warsaw – the evidence of
which can easily be found in the archives of the former Polish government – were
terminated because of the beginning of the war.
The NMO is closely related to the totalitarian movements of Europe in its
ideology and structure.
The fighting capacity of the NMO could never be paralyzed or seriously
weakened, neither through strong defensive measures by the English
administration and the Arabs, nor by those of the Jewish socialists.
